High-resolution digital image acquisition process is often affected by many factors, resulting in image quality degradation and caused many difficulties for subsequent data analysis. In this paper, the traditional method of calculating the modulation transfer function parameters as well as evaluation methods are analyzed, and improve a method of calculating the modulation transfer function, and use the simulation and real experiments on several factors affect the image quality and image quality were effective evaluation. The experiments proved that the "improved image quality evaluation method based on the modulation transfer function" can evaluate digital aerial imagery data objectively and accurately, it can be used to select the better quality of digital images.The main contents include: base on reference and no reference type evaluation methods, focusing on analyze and evaluate the method based on modulation transfer function; It proposed an improved modulation transfer function calculation methods to achieve sub-pixel accuracy, thereby improving the accuracy of calculation of the modulation transfer function; Made in the area of the modulation transfer function as a non-reference type image quality evaluation index, using the improved modulation transfer function method to analyze and evaluate the effect of motion blur, iris, vibration and other factors on imaging quality; And evaluated four spell camera and its mosaic image quality and the quality of aerial images taken in succession, demonstrate the effectiveness of evaluation method of the modulation transfer function.
