A Comparative Study Of "Sars" And "COVID-19" Reports

Emergent public health event is not a strange concept,which is closely related to our production and life.It will cause serious damage to everyone's health,harm social stability,and then cause certain damage to the national economy.Therefore,the study of sudden public health events is of practical guiding significance.SARS in 2003 and COVID-19 in 2020 are two sudden public health events with far-reaching influence and great harm in the history of our country.People's Daily,as an important party newspaper in our country,serves as a weathervane guiding public opinion in our country.Therefore,this study took reports of SARS and COVID-19 in People's Daily as research objects,and collected a total of 1,366 SARS reports from April 10,2003 solstice,August 19,and 2,092 reports of COVID-19 from January 21,2solstice BBB1,April 8.The similarities and differences between the two outbreaks were summarized,and the successful experience was summarized from the comparison,so as to provide countermeasures for China's media to report sudden public health events.The first part of this paper mainly introduces the background of the topic selection,research significance,etc.,and explains the research review of relevant concepts.At the same time,it also explains the research design,research methods,sample selection and category construction.The second part mainly explains the basic content of the definition and characteristics of sudden public health events,the introduction of People's Daily and the basic information of the two epidemics.The third and fourth parts compare the reports of SARS and COVID-19 in People's Daily from two aspects of the report form and the report content.In terms of the form of reports,there is a positive correlation between the number of reports and the development of the epidemic,and the number of reports is the largest when the epidemic is the most serious.SARS reports had a good grasp of the rhythm,and COVID-19 reports were more focused and focused.SARS reports are more concise,which is reflected in the use of300-800 words as the largest number,while COVID-19 reports pay more attention to depth,with the length mainly concentrated on 800-1500 words.Compared with the layout of SARS report,COVID-19 expanded the layout of comments and important news,and enhanced the function of public opinion guidance.The two epidemics were reported in the form of pictures.The COVID-19 report was more than the SARS report with pictures.The combination of pictures and pictures was emphasized to highlight the visual communication effect.Report content,source who is talking to the public,COVID-19 reported more ground gas source,more reflect the demands of the people,information source for the category of social groups,COVID-19 report is5% more than reported severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS),but as a communist party propaganda guidelines and policies of the party and the government is still an important work for the People's Daily,the government department for information source in two outbreaks reported are accounted for the largest part of the;The subject of the two reports,COVID-19 pays more attention to international dynamics,and the relevant topics of international dynamics are 10% more than those of the SARS period.However,the theme of science popularization and prevention is much less than that of SARS period,mainly due to the integration of media,and multiple science popularization is more popular among people.In terms of reporting tendency,positive reports are more prominent,which reflects the positive guidance of appealing to emotions when sudden public health events occur.In the last part,by comparing the reports of SARS and COVID-19 epidemics,many gratifying progresses were found.The response to the COVID-19 epidemic can also be regarded as a textbook response.The redeems of the reports of the two public health emergencies were summarized.Attach importance to the role of comments and strengthen the ability of public opinion guidance;These successful experiences are worth learning and developing,and can provide reference for the report of public health emergencies in the future.
