Not Leisure And Entertainment: The Study On The Rational Enlightenment Practice Of Ziluolan(1925-1930)

Ziluolan was first published in Shanghai in December 1925 and ceased publication in June1930.It published four volumes with 96 copies in total.It is regarded as a leisure and fashion magazine,and it can be called "the crown of maritime magazines" and "the king of maritime magazines." However,in the 1920 s and 1930 s,China was at a critical juncture of national peril,political chaos,and people’s lack of livelihood.So,the magazine positioned in the style of "leisure" really only for the public’s "leisure and entertainment" use? Through the sorting and research of the historical materials of Ziluolan,it is found that this publication is not a leisure and entertainment,and there is a profound value of rational enlightenment behind it.Ziluolan takes novels as the main content form,and enlightens the people in a way of commendation,satire,and entertaining.The real Shanghai society is recorded from three levels of politics,society and ideology,exposing various social realities.Through criticizing warlord wars that harm the country and the people,criticizing bad living habits and social customs,and advocating the citizens to cultivate correct ideas and concepts to achieve the goal of enlightenment to the people.However,the existing research on Ziluolan mostly focuses on small cuts such as novel narrative,commercial operation,publishing and printing,and there are very few studies that put it in the context of the times for text analysis.Therefore,this article attempts to interpret its content in depth,and analyze the enlightenment core of Ziluolan under the "leisure coat".The main body of the thesis consists of five parts: The first part focuses on the Ziluolan publication itself,introducing the basic situation of Ziluolan;the second part focuses on "Political Enlightenment" and analyzes how Ziluolan lets the people know about national affairs and face up to the national crisis.Advocating national knowledge to save the country in order to achieve the purpose of awakening national consciousness;the third part takes "social enlightenment" as the theme,combined with the relevant content of Ziluolan,and analyzes in detail how Ziluolan demonstrates enlightenment by criticizing feudal bad habits and bad social customs Conscious;the fourth part is developed around "ideological enlightenment",with the establishment of public morality and openness as the main line,analysis of how Ziluolan guides the people to establish correct values;the fifth part is a summary and sublimation of the full text,on the one hand,it is discussed Where did the impression of leisure and entertainment of Ziluolan come from? On the other hand,from the perspectives of the background of the publication and the editor-in-chief and the fandom,I will discuss why Ziluolan adopts the combination of "leisure coat" and "enlightenment core".
