Chinese traditional culture is conceived and circulated under the influence of the unique natural environment,economic mode,and social structure of the Chinese nation.Yiwu Dragon Dancing Custom is one of the typical traditional cultural customs in Zhejiang.Employing the research methods of the field on communications,deep interview and case studying,the paper is expected to provide a sample on vicissitude and transmission of traditional cultural customs in Zhejiang.Since the culture is the accumulation of regional historical and cultural traditions and the externalization of conceptual culture,it is always equipped with the regional characteristics and internal regulations distinctively.It is the combined forces that make the formation of the relatively stable “Dragon Dancing cultural circle”: Chinese traditional belief on dragon,unique geographical features,historically agriculture economy-based development mode and inclusive cultural atmosphere in Yiwu.The custom has reached its peak in Ming dynasty and Qing dynasty,dating back to Tang dynasty and prospering in Song dynasty and Yuan dynasty.It includes several rituals,such as Zuoxi,dragon dancing and etc.The presentation of cultural space and communication symbol has satisfied the religion purpose of local people,as well as bridged a platform for social interaction and cultural communication.The custom contains complicated ritual elements,among which the Dengtouhui Group acts as the leader and explainer,the participants are the essential performers and the local people exert their influences on every part,who is the actual dominator of the activity.Under the circumstances of unpredictable changes,funding shortage and cultural confrontations,the rituals has simplified and been diverse while the taboos has been broken,the function of the ritual transmission turning “amusing Gods” to the “amusing both Gods and human”.There is no clear boundary between religion space and secular space during the custom.The transformation from “saint” to “secular” has waken up the cultural memory shared by everyone,which makes the cultural inheritance,self-identity construction and self-image improvement possible.The basic cultural function of the ritual activity is to depict and inherit the shared cultural memory,so as to achieve the identical recognition.Such kind of functions are changed to the involvement of both the era and the technology.The main path of the cultural communication of Dragon Dancing Custom have two channels of the internal and the external,one including the personal communication and the other including the media convergence.Attacked by the technology,purpose and environment of communication,Zhejiang traditional cultural inheritance is facing intergenerational conflict and contradiction,lack of the traditional cultural substance and frail motivation on cultural communication.They have no choice but to face the problems on how to communicate between each other.
