The audience is the object of the museum's services.For museum managers,a good way to better understand the needs of the audiences,is to pay attention to their behavior during the visit.Based on this,an in site investigation on audience behaviors was carried out.Their behaviors when watching exhibition of "Dan Chen Yong Guanniversary of the 600-year old Forbidden City" in Palace Museum were studied.the museum's Behaviors of the audiences were divided into three parts : basic behavior,main behavior,and expansion behavior.By investigation,data of basic information of the audiences,their visit motivation,visit time,visit route,detailed behaviors,emphasis points and so on were obtained,based on which analysis were carried out.Results show that the number of audience visitors in the exhibition is large;information such as visit duration,visit route and so on is not same for each audience;famous exhibits,large size exhibits,exquisite exhibits seem to be more attractive;among all exhibits,the ancient calligraphy and painting have the highest persistence index value.Besides,the phenomenon of "museum fatigue" may appear during the visit.Thus the following suggestions for museum managers for such type exhibition can be considered:(1)a comprehensive plan on the visit route;(2)interactive segment be added to increase audience attention and relieve museum fatigue.
