Archaeological site museum is a theme museum based on the scope ofprotection for ancient sites. It is a window of public for archaeologists and animportant force of modern museum construction. Archaeological site museumdemonstrates archaeological site and archaeological objects jointly, to maximize theauthenticity and integrality of historical and cultural information. In addition, it canpresent the recent discovery and cognition found by archaeologists to archaeologicalsites and visitors, so as to meet the public desire for trends in the protection ofcultural heritage. Although archaeological site museum has its unique advantages, itis difficult to get rid of the "neglected" predicament. Limited by the main body ofexhibition, the archaeological site museum often leaves people with negativeimpression, such as far away location, inadequate ornamental value, strongprofessional contents of exhibition, traditional forms of display and so on, and can’tbring its own social value into full play. In this case, the humanized display anddesign reduce the psychological gap between archaeological site museum and public, which is reasonable and necessary.Humanized display and design are museum staffs’ adjustment in the way ofwork and the transformation of service consciousness, which represents the doubleestimation of Museum to "people" and "matter" in new era. Based on clarifying theprinciples of protection for archaeological site and the display of overallrequirements, this paper makes theoretical analysis of necessity and feasibility forhumanized exhibition, and sums up present situation and exhibition defects throughcombining the live investigation data, and thinks there is still certain promotionspace in content design and form design of archaeological site museum. In summary, the humanized design of archaeological site museum shall comply with thefollowing ideas:1) take the protection of authenticity and integrity as the premise.2)Respect visitors’ psychological needs and experience.3) Make full use of researchresults from human body engineering.4) Act on wide view and prospective thinkingof design. In the stage of implementation, this paper explains the humanized designof the content of archaeological site museum from theme of exhibition setting, exhibition content options, exhibition unit division, selection and combination ofitems on exhibition. This paper also discusses its views on the humanized design ofarchaeological site museum from style of exhibition space, distribution of exhibitionlines, color shape, lighting control, setting of guidance marks, design of interactive multimedia project etc. Finally, this paper draws two conclusions:1) grasp the suitable scale forhumanized design of archaeological site museum, and balance the relationshipbetween the protection of archaeological site and display.2) Although the humanizeddesign often manifests the improvement of exhibition details, it plays an importantrole on the socialization of archaeological site museum. It is actually a tacitcooperation between museum workers and visitors in understanding, emotion andbehavior.
