We are at the historical juncture of the transition from print culture to electronic culture.The printed media is undergoing a period of transformation.The suspension of newspapers and magazines is also happening frequently.The general understanding is that under the strong development of new media,printed media should be over!However,the development and expansion of new media is not the end of the old media.The Printed Media and Digital Media are in a complex interaction and change is not a life-and-death war.The interlocking of them is the history that we are experiencing these years.Based on the background of the alternation of Printed Media and Digital Media,this article re-examines the digital reading mode and design logic of the journals of Condé Nast Group,which is representative of American consumer magazines.The main research contents are as follows: 1.Research on the relevance between magazines and readers.Analyze the "community on paper " constructed between advertisers and readers by magazine publishers.By sorting out the origins of the American magazine industry and the global expansion of magazine culture,sorting out the characteristics and organizations of the reader-community based on the different back-grounds between the Printed Media and Digital Media;2.Based on the background of the transition,from the broadcast transmission to the bi-communication,from the mass media to the digital media,introduce the influence of the speech rights on the public,and analyze the possibility of digital media platforms to expand the way of reading;3,Based on the instinct of human pursuit of entertainment,analyze the contribution of magazines in the era of mechanical-copying to popular entertainment reading,and propose that in the era of digital-copying,the way of reading is converted to mobile digital reading,the entertainment of electronic reading has been Incorporated into the daily life of the general public,and changed the lifestyle and thinking mode of the general public;4.Analyze the evolution of design logic in the conversion from printed media to electronic media,and summarize the influence and constraints of design paradigms based on the development of printing technology on the design logic of digital reading.Taking the Condé Nast Group as an example,based on the underlying logic of the separation of print media and digital media,this article proposes that under the general trend of digital transformation,journals need to re-examine the design logic of digital media and establish a new mode of entertainment reading based on readers' reading habits.Promote the continued prosperity of the periodical industry in the new era.
