In the midsummer of 2020,the "sisters" came on the waves.Without a fixed schedule and no announcements,they received three harvests of popularity,ratings and word of mouth,which injected new vitality into the variety show market in the postepidemic era." Sisters Who Brave the Winds and Waves " used age as the label,portrays "sisters" as inspirational symbol carriers,and created a magnificent feast of spectacles for the audience.As a social and cultural phenomenon,"Wonders" are used to show the audience real-life images through attractive,fun and stimulating visual symbols.These images reflect the lifestyles,values and social relationships of contemporary society.Today,"media spectacles" have become a basic feature of contemporary society,and the media uses endless "spectacles" to attract audiences and occupy the market.Based on Douglas Kellner's "media spectacle" theory,the author uses case analysis and in-depth interview methods,and attempts to dissect the spectacle of the "phenomenal" variety show " Sisters Who Brave the Winds and Waves ".First,it analyzes " Sisters Who Brave the Winds and Waves " from the media level,audience level and marketing level.The spectacle of the program is manifested as a celebrity spectacle,a fan spectacle and a consumption spectacle.Secondly,it discusses the spectacle construction of " Sisters Who Brave the Winds and Waves " from four aspects:audiovisual,narrative,carnival and ritual.The program constructs audiovisual spectacles from the guest lineup and stage performances,and constructs narrative spectacles from the narrative theme,narrative section and narrative structure.The ritual spectacle is constructed from the fixed ritual time and space and the stylized ritual process,and the carnival spectacle is constructed from the carnival square where all people participate,the program competition system of equality for all,and the subversion of the traditional women's team standards.Thirdly,through in-depth interviews,it is analyzed that the spectacle of " Sisters Who Brave the Winds and Waves" has important commercial,emotional and social value.The spectacle presentation of the program not only enhances the commercial benefits of the program,but also meets the spiritual needs of the audience,and leads the value orientation of society.Finally,based on a critical perspective,it founds that behind this gorgeous variety show is still the prevalence of consumerism,the audience's symbolic consumption,privacy consumption and time consumption of the program;the surface of the program breaks through the traditional shackles,staring from "she" The perspective of showing the beauty of women has not escaped the aesthetic discipline of "he" gaze in essence;the entertainment production method makes the program content lack of cultural connotation,and also makes the audience gradually lose the ability to think deeply while enjoying the pleasure of entertainment.
