Discourse Research On Domestic Violence Reported By The Paper.cn From 2016 To 2021

In recent years,a number of domestic violence cases have been frequently exposed in the media,from Yuya to Fang Yang yang,from Ram to Ma Jinyu,domestic violence continues to be a hot topic in the society.The agenda setting of the media will affect the public's perception of the importance of the event.The more the media emphasize and report on domestic violence,the higher the public's attention to the issue.On the one hand,the media's coverage of domestic violence events can arouse the attention of all sectors of society to the problem of domestic violence and enhance the public's awareness of anti-domestic violence.On the other hand,the news discourse used by the media in reporting domestic violence will also arouse corresponding social opinions and even generate more social problems.Therefore,this paper focuses on the study of the news discourse of domestic violence reports,studies the problems existing in domestic violence reports,and carries out in-depth thinking to urge the media to play a positive role in the process of anti-domestic violence.This study mainly adopts the discourse analysis method,and selects 320 domestic violence reports of "The Paper" from March 1,2016 solstice to February 28,2021 as the research objects.It adopts Fairclough's three-dimensional critical discourse analysis method and divides them into three main frameworks:text,discourse practice and social practice.In addition,based on the news discourse analysis method of Van Dijk,the paper conducts in-depth analysis on the domestic violence related report texts of The Paper to explore the content construction and problems of domestic violence reports.Dimension through text analysis found that the reported theme mainly reported domestic violence cases,different subjects have their own news schema construction,more objective and neutral attitude on discourse style,used on the discourse rhetoric clear sources,using precise Numbers,described the scene details,cause a variety of strategies to enhance the news such as emotional persuasion.Through the analysis of discourse practice,it is found that The Paper uses questioning methods,absolute discourse and authoritative sources to enhance the power of anti-domestic violence discourse.It also constructs the image of weak and tolerant female victim and the image of strong and irascible male abuser,and the negative plot of harm and revenge is taken as the main narrative mode.The consistency of the report has strengthened the public awareness of anti-domestic violence.Through the analysis of social practice,it is found that the discourse of domestic violence is influenced by political factors.The frequency of the release of reports is related to the relevant anti-domestic violence festivals,and the ideology of anti-domestic violence is conveyed by means of constructing the knowledge of anti-domestic violence law and shaping the legitimacy of social consensus.Influenced by economic factors,it attracts the attention of the audience through curious titles and detailed descriptions,so as to achieve the purpose of enhancing commercial benefits.Affected by the patriarchal system,men have the right to speak in the news.Some domestic violence discourses regard men as the rules and standards,while women become the subordinate products of men.Through the above analysis and research,it is found that PengPAI News has a single subject and narrow geographical coverage.The attribution of domestic violence ignores the gender perspective and does not go deep into the social level.Most of the reports are from the perspective of men and lack of ethical concern for women.Therefore,in order to better play the positive role of the media in the social process of anti-domestic violence,the media should construct the anti-domestic violence media assistance network,get out of the dilemma of gender cognition,and strengthen the media's ethical responsibility when reporting domestic violence.
