School violence is still widespread today,and most of the school violence is involved in school students,many of them are minors.Bullying,beating often occur on the campus,and even some people lose their lives as a result.School violence has a profound impact on the victims,and many children still leave a psychological shadow as adults,and the perpetrators will eventually pay the price if their behavior is not corrected in time.In order to protect the healthy growth of children,we must pay attention to the violence in school.Campus violence takes place in a small circle,outsiders do not know.More people know it through media coverage.News reports are an important carrier for the dissemination of school violence,and the new media also provides great convenience.The school violence incidents must be informed to the public then arouse their concern and thinking.Therefore,it is necessary to study the reports of school violence.In this context,the author makes a discourse analysis to the reports of the school violence incidents.Compared with the traditional text analysis,the discourse analysis also pays attention to the text macroscopic level content,such as the structure,the theme and so on.And the understanding of the text is more comprehensive.It also involves the meaning behind the text.Based on the method of discourse analysis,this article uses"The Paper"as the sample media.The author sets a time period and key words,then extracts 264 reports on the theme of school violence.Referring to Van Dijk's discourse analysis theory,and reference to other studies comprehensively,this article provides a more in-depth analysis of the sample.The main questions in this article are what is the content of the reports on campus violence incidents?How does the media construct these content?What are the flaws of reporting discourse and how should the media do a good job of reporting similar incidents?After doing the preparatory work for the research,it elaborates from the following aspects:the textual features of the news discourse,the media construction skills of the news discourse,and the realistic thinking of news discourse.The textual characteristics of news discourse can be explored from the macro and micro perspectives.Taking the campus violence reports of "The Paper"as an example,the study finds that,in the macro-discourse aspect,although this kind of report covers a wide range of topics,some meaningful themes such as educational,event participants and so on are not sufficiently focused.The structure of the report is dominated by linear structures,and some of the tracking reports use radioactive structures.News schema is also the research category of macro-discourse.The title,introduction,plot,background and so on of campus violence reports show specific characteristics.In terms of micro-discourse,the high-frequency vocabulary of relevant reports reflects the general law of campus violence.Generally speaking,it is reported that the verbs,declarative sentences and passive sentences are often used to describe events,and the structure of the sentences is more complex.The context of micro-discourse is called"local semantics".The local semantic environment of campus violence reporting has the characteristics of local coherence and information repeatability.News is the constructed fact,after analyzing the characteristics of discourse text,the angle of this research shifts to the discourse skill of the campus violence reports,explores the media construction technique of the news fact.Analysis of the school violence reports on"The Paper"can be found that the reporters use news rhetorical strategies to persuade the audience,including quotation rhetoric,digital rhetoric and visual rhetoric,so as to make the audience accept the content of their narrative and the intention of their communication.In addition,subjective tendency is added to the implicit wording.It also makes use of the live description to impress the audience.At the same time,there are also some discourse defects in the reports of the incidents of school violence,including the lack of depth of reporting discourse,causing bad demonstration and discourse inequality.Through the analysis of the above aspects,this article thinks about how to do a good job of reporting on the incidents of school violence?Some suggestions are put forward for the reporting of the discourse,and this article is expanded.When the media reported similar incidents in the future,the educational significance of the report discourse should be explored.The discourse can be used to guide the public opinion,and the parties should be given equal discourse expression rights.In this way,we hope to apply the research of news discourse to the reality.
