In the context of the rapid development of the Internet of Things, the prevailing experience economy, and the aging population, based on user experience, service design, and usability, the research on public terminal use barriers for the elderly is conducted. In the current era of digital information, the amount of information is large and the structure is complex. The irrational interface layout will affect the user 's good experience and efficiency. On the one hand, there is no unified design standard for the interface design of public terminals. There are differences in the psychological and cognitive aspects when using public terminals, resulting in low interaction efficiency and poor user experience. At the same time, because the elderly population is currently not the mainstream user group of information technology products, many people who research and design information technology products do not pay enough attention to this group of people,so there may be problems that are not applicable to elderly users. On the other hand, public terminals provide information-based or transaction-based services based on information technology. For elderly users, although most of them also understand the many benefits of information technology, the decline in physical and cognitive abilities will be used by elderly people.Information technology creates obstacles that make it lose confidence and unwilling to use it.In order to improve the use experience and satisfaction of public terminals, this paper uses the UTAUT model to evaluate and summarize the influencing factors of the elderly's intention to use public terminals in the context of the digital divide.Summarized several aspects to narrow the digital divide, strengthened the right of the elderly to speak in public terminals through optimized design, improved support for use,and balanced public terminal facilities in various regions in the east, central, and western regions;information architecture for public terminals through user experience And navigation analysis, put forward the optimization design strategy and guided navigation design of public terminal for the elderly. The slice tree genetic algorithm is used to optimize the interface layout;the adaptive genetic algorithm is used to automatically adjust the crossover rate and mutation rate to improve the optimization speed. Finally, taking the hospital self-service registration machine as an example, the interface design of the public terminal was optimized for the target user group.Combined with the analysis of user needs, the existing problems are identified and the corresponding optimization design directions are given to determine the functional scope of the public terminal.According to the functional scope, starting from the task flow, determine the information architecture and provide a functional architecture for subsequent design. This paper proposes the usability design of public terminal system for the elderly, and compares the usability test of the old and new interfaces to verify the proposed optimization strategy and the slice tree genetic algorithm can indeed get the best interface layout. The end result assists elderly users in making effective decisions, reducing extra operations, improving performance, and instrumenting repetitive human work.It looks forward to a new direction for the research on the adoption and use of public terminals for the elderly in the future;helps the elderly to better integrate and experience the convenient life in the information age,and enables the public terminals to maximize their benefits.
