Due to the advantages of high space utilization, strong storage capacity and large storage flux, the stereoscopic warehouse is widely studied and promoted. In order to guarantee its automatic access ability and improve its fault reporting and response capability, the monitoring system is critical. Therefore,in this paper,a visual monitoring system is developed for the stereoscopic warehouse based on shuttle shelf. In order to improve the storage efficiency of the stereoscopic warehouse, optimal storage assignment problem is studied, and a multi-generation genetic algorithm is proposed based on the improved coding policy, and it was tested via the simulation experiments based on the stacker warehouse and the shuttle warehouse, respectively. The main research work of this paper is as follows:Firstly, based on the configuration software,a visual monitoring system is developed for the shuttle warehouse. On the one hand, the communication plan between monitoring system and shuttle, monitoring system and PLC is determined, and the database of the monitoring system is designed. On the other hand, the main functions of the visual monitoring system are realized, including:transportation process visualization, shelf real-time monitoring, transportation data and equipment status recording and saving, etc.Secondly, for the optimal storage assignment problem,an improved coding policy based multi-generation genetic algorithm is proposed. On the one hand, mathematical models are constructed based on the research of optimal storage assignment problem. On the other hand, traditional heuristic algorithms for the multi-objective optimization problem are reviewed and analyzed.Based on that,a multi-population genetic algorithm with index coding is proposed to address the issues that traditional GA is prone to fall into local optimum and with incompact coding policy. Finally, based on the stacker warehouse and shuttle warehouse, the traditional genetic algorithm and the proposed algorithm are simulated and compared.Among them, the optimal storage assignment problem based on shuttle warehouse is a three-dimensional discrete space optimization problem based on four objectives, which is of high complexity, and these objectives correspond to the principle of shelf stability, the principle of goods turnover rate, the principle of goods relevance and the principle of convenient access. Therefore, according to the characteristics of different priority of each principle,it is simplified into a two-dimensional discrete space optimization problem based on just two-optimization principle of shelf stability and goods turnover rate.Simulation calculation results show that the above optimization process greatly reduces the complexity of the problem, and the proposed algorithm has higher search efficiency and stronger global optimization ability.
