With the continuous breakthrough and development of computer technologies such as the Internet,big data,and cloud computing,artificial intelligence is spawning a batch of subversive technologies,leading a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation.From the birth of artificial intelligence,machine vision related research and application has become a hot research field.This paper introduces the CiteSpace visual knowledge mapping tool into related research in the field of machine vision.It selects the high-level papers from the core collection of Web of Science in the machine vision field from 2010 to 2019,as well as the effectively authorizing invention patents as patent data in 116 major countries from 2000 to 2019.It tries to provide a direction and a train of thought for research in the field of machine vision from a brand new perspective,and provide an empirical study for statistical analysis of the literature.It aims to comprehensively grasp and analyze the current development of machine vision and to find out its hotspots,research frontier and technological opportunities.The main contents of this study are as follows:(1)Using Web of Science for citation analysis and CiteSpace information visualization tools for collaborative network analysis,co-citation analysis,burst detection,half-life,centrality and H-index analysis.From a macro perspective,the overall situation of document time distribution in the field of machine vision is analyzed.From a micro perspective,we will showcase the various aspects of countries(areas),research institutions,author cooperation networks,academic journals and fund-funded institutions by constructing a collaborative knowledge map among the subjects in the field.It cab be seen from the analysis that the number of high-level articles published in the field and the number of citations have been increasing,and they are at a higher level of vigorous growth.China and the United States are in a.leading position in this field.Today,China is becoming one of the most active regions in the world in the development of machine vision.(2)By co-occurring analysis of literature keywords,it can be see that the vocabulary of classification,system,algorithm,recognition,model,feature,image,segmentation,tracking,image processing,image analysis,vision and color constitute hot spots in this field.Through the burst detection of high-frequency keywords,we found that shape,texture,edge detection,information,pattern recognition,motion,optimization,inspection,optical flow,camera correction have become the research hotspots and research frontiers.(3)Using Patsnap to analyze patent literature in the field of machine vision,it can be seen that the research institutions in China and the United States account for the highest proportion.By analysis the technology focus map shows that the future technological development trend is G06(calculation;projection;counting).By comparing the domain maps,innovation word cloud,rising sun map and patent map between world and China in the field of machine vision,we analyzed that China is at a disadvantage in laser detection,image processing,information fusion and compression sensing,and it needs to increase investment.
