Broadcasting was the earliest mass media that entered the countryside. In the 1950 s,China began to build rural cable broadcasting networks. The 1970 s were a glorious period of its development. In the 1980 s,with the popularization of television and networks, gradually withdrew from people's vision. This article takes the small square and big horn project implemented in Yunnan Province in recent years as an object of investigation, and conducts field surveys on three natural villages under the Damengen Village Committee of Xinqiao Town in Mouding County, aiming to return to this phenomenon with the rural big horn As an entry point,we will discuss the practice, significance, and problems of the big horn that has withdrawn from public view and returned to the rural society under the social background where a large number of private media such as TVs,mobile phones, and networks are increasingly popular.Taking the rural public space theory as the perspective of analysis,on the basis of examining the transformation of the entire rural social structure and the evolution process of the media ecosystem,it focuses on the role of the big horn,a public medium,in the construction of rural public space. The village had large speakers before the 1980 s,but the rights to broadcast and use the speakers were concentrated in the hands of the production captain, which made this medium semi-public and semi-private.From the 1980 s to the 1990 s Some village elites have started the practice of showing square movies in villages, but they use film as a means of making money. After television gradually enters the village, people return to the private space of the family and enjoy TV viewing activities that are freely controlled by individuals. As a public cultural resource endowed by the state to the village, the big horn that the author pays attention to has changed greatly in terms of communication form, content and right of use compared to the early big horn, indicated by a single message The communication tool is transformed into a powerful means to strengthen villagers 'interpersonal communication, manage village order and cultivate villagers' awareness of modernization. This article uses field investigation as a research method, through participatory observation and in-depth interviews to explore the relationship between the big horn and the villagers' daily life after entering the village. It is found that the big horn is embedded in many aspects of the villagers' daily life.Under the background of the rural public space gradually becoming individualized and decentralized,it plays an intermediary role in regulating the village management order and constructing rural publicity in the village. The return of the loudspeaker shows that the village public space may be rebuilt under the connection of the national administrative force and the village's traditional culture. And from the perspective of rural governance,it is considered that the re-entry of the big horn into the countryside is the state government's assistance to rural governance to a certain extent through media technology.Compare the two official forms and effects of the "official language" and "local language" of the big horn,as well as the towns and villages The committee has certain autonomy in broadcasting content and broadcasting methods, and is expected to develop towards community-based media.
