Research On Improvement Of University Library Service Capability Based On User Demand

As a document and information center of colleges and universities,the library is an indispensable and important part of teaching and scientific research.Its service ability and its position in the science and education of teachers and students will directly affect the level of colleges and universities.With the computer network and the digitization of information resources,the needs of library users are showing a trend of diversification and personalization.University library services are also becoming networked,digitalized,and knowledgeable.This paper starts with the concept of service capability,according to the service capability classification,this paper summarizes the service capacity chart of university library;at the same time,maslow's hierarchy of needs theory,new public service theory and relevant domestic and foreign literature are studied,it is believed that the key to improve the service ability of university library is to adhere to the user-oriented.And on that basis,this paper takes guangxi A university library as the research object,based on the five dimensions of space service,literature resource service,subject service,information literacy education teaching and training services,and reading promotion service,by means of literature research and questionnaire survey,this paper analyzes the actual situation of service capacity of A university library in guangxi.this paper empirically explores the user demand of A university library in guangxi as well as the current situation of its library service capacity,problems and reasons.It is found that the service ability of university libraries mainly includes the following problems: the shortage of spatial service details,the relativelack of key literature resources,the lack of specialized service ability,the single teaching content and form of information literacy education,and the poor service of reading promotion.The root causes of the above problems are the limited investment and technical level of funds in colleges and universities,the imperfect guarantee mechanism of literature resources service,the imperfect disciplinary service system,the low emphasis on information literacy education and teaching,and the lack of innovation in reading promotion.By consulting professional materials and literature related to the service capacity of university libraries at home,to summarize the relevant experience of advanced university libraries in improving their service capacity,and combine with the actual situation of A university library in guangxi,countermeasures and Suggestions to improve the service capacity of university libraries are put forward from six aspects,first,optimize the space service environment and improve user satisfaction;second,rational procurement to improve the utilization of literature resources;third,improve the professional discipline service system;fourth,the importance of information literacy education teaching and training;fifth,we will strengthen the effectiveness of innovation and promotion;sixth,strengthening the construction of library personnel is the key.Based on user demand,this paper studies the improvement of university library service capacity.It is not only the need for the library's own growth and development,but also for the sustainable and healthy development of the library cause.It has practical reference significance for the development of China's higher education.
