| With the rapid development of the Io T technology,the number of battery-driven electronic devices has increased explosively.Microcontrollers,as the central control unit of these devices,have also shifted from the pursuit of a single effective control to high performance and low power With.At the same time,based on the requirements of low power consumption,the major chip design companies have launched different designs and structures of low-power microcontrollers.Starting from the structure,working principle and working process of the microcontroller,this paper studies and explores five different working modes of the microcontroller: active mode,low-power active mode,idle mode,standby mode and off mode.Under the condition of different use of hardware resources,the design innovation of power consumption gradient is carried out.Therefore,based on the Arm Cortex-M0 core microcontroller,a multi-mode low-power design scheme is developed,and a power management system with rich functions and low power consumption is completed.The power management system is mainly composed of core control unit,clock management unit and reset management unit.Among them,the core control unit can effectively complete the mode switching of the microcontroller and the configuration of registers in the power management system;the clock management unit can realize the 2 / 4 / 8 / 16 frequency division function of the clock under the AHB and APB in the microcontroller,and complete the switching of all levels of gated clocks;the reset management unit can use the reset strategy of synchronous request and asynchronous release according to the core control unit’s command to form the reset input signal of each module.On the basis of fully verifying the above system functions,the microcontroller was tape-out by the SMIC 55 nm process,and the performance of each working mode was tested.The test result shows that the power consumption of the designed power management system is extremely low.In active mode,the power management system itself consumes 160μW,accounting for 4.37% of the total power consumption of the microcontroller;in standby mode,the core control unit of the normally open domain is only 104 n W,accounting for only 1.7% of the total power consumption of the microcontroller.The test data also fully shows that the power consumption gradient of the microcontroller is obvious in each working mode,and the shutdown mode current is only 200 n A.Compared with similar microcontrollers at home and abroad,it reaches the lowest power consumption level and Achieved the established goal of power management system design... |
