With the rapid increase of wireless mobile communication equipment, the data traffic of communication networks is increasing day by day.In reality, this trend change has led to the traditional cellular networks have been unable to meet the traffic demands of users. In order to deal with this problem, and support high-capacity,low-latency transmission and mass device connection, the fifth generation(5G)mobile communication system has attracted much attention.Ultra-dense Networks(UDN),as one of the key technologies of 5G communication systems, can shortens the distance between the transmission node and the terminal by deploying dense small base stations(SBSs),which significantly improves throughput and energy efficiency of communication system. This paper analyzes the importance of UDN,and conducts an in-depth investigation and analysis of its current research status and development trends. The study found that the UDN mainly presents the following two challenges: First, although the dense deployment of micro base stations can improve spectrum efficiency,it may also cause huge network energy consumption problems;Second, under control/user plane separation(CUPS)architectures,inter-layer interference is the most serious and cannot be ignored. To solve the above problems, this paper focuses on energy efficiency and interference coordination of UDN.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:1)For the problem of huge energy consumption caused by the deployment of dense SBSs,this paper establish a network model base on the Hard-Core Point Process(HCPP).Under this model, this paper considers CUPS and focuses on energy efficiency optimization.Specifically,in order to minimize the average energy consumption of the base station, the network spectrum allocation ratio, base station density, and the number of base station equipped antennas are jointly optimized. To solve the optimization problem,we proposes a low complexity iterative algorithm. The simulation results show that the algorithm can effectively reduce the energy consumption of the base station and greatly improve the system energy efficiency.2)For the problem of inter-layer interference in ultra-dense networks,we considers in-band full-duplex mode and out-of-band full-duplex mode in this paper. With these two modes,we attempts to optimize the system throughput. To solve the optimize problem,a modified Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)algorithm is used to search for the global optimal solution. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively suppress the inter-layer interference and greatly improve the system throughput.
