Research On Social Behaviors Of Mobile Phone Use Among Elderly People In Third-tier Cities

The study was conducted on people over 50 years old in zhanjiang city,guangdong province.Analyzing the social behavior of the elderly in smart phone use from the perspective of performance and seeing them as individuals who are both performers and spectators.In this study,the new concept of "Daily life spectacle " is put forward as an intermediary for the social activities of the elderly.Therefore,their network interaction process can be described as: "Performer(Audience)—The spectacle of daily life —Audience(Performer)".The main content of the paper is divided into three parts: In the first part,based on the mobile Internet environment,it analyzes how the daily life spectacle as a network social intermediary promotes the elderly to carry out social activities.In the second part,the reasons for the emergence of new social behaviors are analyzed along the research idea of " smart phone media — change of information transmission mode — redefinition of social situation — recognition of social roles —adjustment of social behaviors ".And then it further summarizes the two processes of the network social communication of the elderly--the process of performing and the process of spectating.In the third part,a scale was developed to measure the influence of the use of daily life spectacle on the self-presentation,social participation and psychological changes of the elderly in Zhanjiang city.The study found that the use of it has a positive impact on the three.First of all,most elderly in Zhanjiang city actively create and use the daily life spectacle.Secondly,the higher the degree of Zhanjiang elderly people's use of the daily life spectacle,the more inclined to positive self-presentation.The daily life spectacle as a self-image management tool for the elderly,it represents the elderly 's ideal self.This positive self-presentation forms a resistance to the long-existing negative stereotype of the elderly in the society.Promote the social cognition and self-cognition of the elderly to the positive side.Furthermore,the higher the degree of Zhanjiang elderly people's use of the daily life spectacle,the more inclined to social activities.Daily life spectacle as a new means of social participation for the elderly,it encourages them toexpress themselves in online interactions,then it completes the construction of its subjective identity in the network society.Finally,the more Zhanjiang elderly people use the daily life spectacle,the more likely they are to produce positive psychological changes.The daily life spectacle as an ideal way of personal emotional comfort for the contemporary elderly,it encourages the elderly to take the initiative in old age.But the daily life spectacle has two sides.It envelops the elderly in the desires created by the images of life.They understood personal survival as a display of the daily life spectacle,and fell in love with the landscape,thus deviated from the original intention of survival.
