At present,domestic and foreign research on home robots are mostly focused on entertainment,education,cleaning,and few studies on the field of home security robot.Especially in today's society,due to the pressure of work,people spend most of their time in office or make trips.However,these people are worried about some problems.For example,the child or the old who are being home alone should be under the radar.They want have a look whether gas or water leakage.They also wonder whether there is a fire or some people invading their house.As a result,these people couldn't devote themselves to their work and couldn't go back home for a visit.This paper have designed a home security robot based on embedded system.The robot is equipped with remote monitoring camera,temperature sensor,smoke detection sensor,human induction sensor and an ultrasonic ranging sensor.These sensors are used to collect video,measure indoor temperature,detect smoke concentration,detect whether there is an alien invasion in the blind spot and measure the distance of the robot from its to target.The research is focused on the development of robot's hardware and software.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Hardware design.The control system of robot is designed based on embedded system,the main controller chooses S3C2451.The Tiny2451 development board is used as the hardware platform.The sensors are connected with the development board and the serial instructions are sent to the secondary controller by the board.The secondary controller chooses Arduino,it is used to control DC geared motors and servos.(2)Construct software development platform.In the Windows 10 operating system,Ubuntu 16.04 is installed with VMware Workstation,which is used as the platform for embedded software development.This system are also installed cross compiler and Samba server.(3)Design the embedded server.The embedded Web server chooses BOA,and the video server chooses Mjpg-Streamer.These two servers are installed into the development board.(4)Software development.The sensors' drivers and the source programs of CGI,Arduino and HTML are designed.(5)Experimental verification.Test the accuracy of the sensors measurement data from the home security robot and the video transmission performance.Observe the results of the DC geared motors on motion control and the servos on camera's angle control.
