Because of the reality and depth information that3D display provides, related techniques have been developed rapidly in recent years. Real3D space display enables observers to obtain3D information of different aspects of a virtual object just like watching a real one. Light Field3D Display reconstructs the virtual object’s light field spatial distribution. This sort of display has been playing an significant part in the field of3D display.Integral Light Field3D Display, which belongs to the scope of Light Field Display, has advantages of high resolution, system stability and quick imaging process et al. However, restricted by the resolution and inherent system structure of modern display devices. Integral3D Display has severe problems like lack of displayed information, sense of transition when switching perspectives and image luminance uniformity, which greatly affect observer experience.This paper discusses a series of Integral3D Display Optimization on the basis of two important kinds of Integral3D Display techniques. Firstly, principles of Flat Panel Integral3D Display are introduced and a related optimization method is proposed. Eye tracking technique is used for expanding3D information. According to the experiments, the scale of reconstructed3D scenes increased significantly after being optimized and the motion parallax improved as well. Secondly, principles of another Integral3D Display—Multi-projector Integral3D Display are introduced and a method of image distortion correction is highlighted. Accordingly experiments have been made and the results are analyzed. The positive effect of this method has been affirmed. Thirdly, a method which generally applies to Integral3D Display to correct luminance uniformity is proposed. Based on the multi-projector3D Display prototype, it is demonstrated that the luminance uniformity of the system has been eminently improved by using this method. Thus viewing experience is enhanced as well. This method is a new way to improve3D Diplay performances.Finally, the present work is summarized and the future work is prospected.
