Research On English-version Humanities And Social Science Academic Journals Of Mainland China

Since China carried out the Reform and Opening-up policy,Chinese scholars have made a considerable progress of the international academic communications,and China's "Cultural Going-Out" strategy also has been steadily implemented.Therefore,a large number of foreign language academic journals emerged at the historic moment.Compared with other non-English developed countries,Mainland China started relatively late on English journal,which also developed slowly,especially the English-version humanities and social science academic journals of Mainland China.Hence nowadays how to develop the English-version humanities and social science academic journals of Mainland China is the main problem,which should be adapted to the increasing scientific and technological and cultural level,and also has strongly promoted in China have strongly promote Chinese science and technology and culture.This paper will research the English-version humanities and social science academic journals of Mainland China by means of bibliometric method,case analysis and comparative study.This paper is divided into six sections.Firstly,the paper presents the historical background and the research status of the English-version humanities and social science academic journals of Mainland China,and defines the object of this study is the English-version humanities and social science academic journals which the copyright should belong to Mainland China.Secondly,this paper uses the bibliometric method to analyze the basic situation,digital level,sponsors and academic impact of 61 English-version humanities and social science academic journals of Mainland China.Thirdly,this paper studies the articles,academic impact and network communications of these 4 journals which are included in SSCI or A&HCI by case analysis.Fourthly,this study makes a comparison of the English-version humanities and social science academic journals of Mainland China and the Chinese journals,and also compares the 3 SSCI journals with other SSCI journals of the same discipline.Fifthly,on the basis of above analysis,this paper summarizes the progress,characteristics and deficiency of these journals and puts forward the development countermeasures.Finally,this paper makes a summary and points out the innovations as well as the defects of this study.This papers finds out that the defects of these journals are the small number,the imbalance distribution of the palce of publication and disciplines,the scattered resources of sponsors,the relatively long publication period,the lower international level of editorial team as well as the low level of digitalization.Therefore,this paper puts forward some countermeasures such as giving vigorously supporting by the Chinese government,filling in the blank disciplines and developing economics journals and characteristic journals.Meanwhile,this paper makes suggestions like enhanceing the literacy and the international level of the editorial team,shortening publication period and building independent digital platforms.This paper also proposes the experts and scholars in mainland China not only has to go out,but also to attract the foreign experts and scholars to cooperate and master the academic development in foreign countries.
