Physical education plays a pivotal role in the overall development of quality education for students and plays an irreplaceable role in the physical and mental development of students.The Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Strengthening School Sports to Promote the Overall Development of Students’ Physical and Mental Health states that the development of school sports is the basis for implementing quality education and promoting the overall development of students,and that the rapid development of school sports can not only promote the modernisation of education but also promote the building of a healthy China and a strong human resource country,which is extremely important for achieving the great rejuvenation of our Chinese nation and realising the Chinese dream.School football is an important initiative in the implementation of school sports,but the current stage of football teaching methods are single and inefficient,so promoting the reform of football teaching methods in physical education is a top priority.This experiment is based on the teaching effect of PBL teaching method in high school football teaching.The research methods used are literature development method,expert interview method,questionnaire survey method,teaching experiment method and mathematical and statistical method.The comparison classes were senior class 25 and senior class 7.15 boys and 15 girls were randomly selected from each class before the pre-experimental test,totalling 60 students.7 classes were taught using the PBL teaching method and 25 classes were taught using the traditional teaching method,and the experiment lasted for a total of twelve weeks.The experiment was conducted to investigate whether the PBL teaching method applied in high school football teaching is more conducive to improving students’ affective performance and cooperation ability,whether it is more helpful to students’ physical quality and football skills,and to explore the diversification of high school football teaching methods.The following experimental conclusions were drawn.1.In terms of physical fitness,the differences between the test scores of male and female students in the experimental class and those in the control class were not significant after comparative analysis of the experiment(all P>0.05).This proves that the use of PBL teaching method in high school football teaching does not have a significant enhancing effect on the development of physical fitness.2.In terms of football motor skills,the test scores of both male and female students in the experimental class were higher than those in the control class after the comparative analysis experiment(both P<0.05).This proves that the use of PBL teaching method in high school football teaching has a positive effect on promoting students’ mastery of football skills.3.In terms of interest in physical education,the test scores of both male and female students in the experimental class were higher than those in the control class after the comparative analysis(P<0.05).This proves that the use of PBL teaching method in high school football teaching can significantly improve students’ interest in physical education learning.4.In terms of cooperation ability,the test scores of both male and female students in the experimental class were higher than those in the control class after the comparative analysis(P<0.05).This proves that the use of PBL teaching method in high school football teaching has a significant effect on the improvement of students’ cooperation ability.
