| The past education system put too much emphasis on the cognitive development of students, focused on the investigation and evaluation of students’ knowledge level and ability level. But with the development of society and the progress of science, science education pays an increasing number of attention to the cultivation of students’ feelings, attitudes and values. At present, science education needs to cultivate students’ positive attitude towards science. To sum up,this study is devoted to explore the development characteristics of high school students’ scientific attitudes and the factors that affect their scientific attitudes.Based on the ROSE international Science Attitude Questionnaire, this study selected 1529 students in total from grade one to grade three in Xi ’an as the object of the study to explore the current situation, development characteristics and gender differences of students’ scientism. In addition, based on literature review and student interviews, this study constructed an evaluation framework of factors affecting students’ scientific attitude, and compiled test questions according to this framework to construct a tool to explore the factors influencing students’ scientific attitude. The reliability and validity of the tool were tested. And here are the study results:(1)Most of the students generally have a positive attitude towards science, with good scientific concepts and a tendency to practice environmental protection. However, they have few extracurricular activities and generally have low interest in in-class knowledge.(2)There are significant differences in science attitudes among students of different grades. In general, grade 3 has a more positive attitude towards science than the other two grades. It should be paid more attention that grade 2 students have a more negative attitude and less enthusiasm about science.(3)Students of different genders have different scientific attitudes significantly.(4)School educational resources support,self-efficacy and peer influence, family educational resources and teacher gender can statistically significantly affect students’ scientific attitudes.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of students’ scientific attitude in different grades and different genders, combined with the factors affecting students’ scientific attitude, this paper comes up with some tactics to develop students’ scientific attitude, which indirectly provides some suggestions for textbook compilation and science education reform, and also provides some thoughts for teachers’ teaching. |
