High school not only plays an absolutely important part in students' growth,but also is a turning point in their long lives.What the headteachers do will have a profound effect on high school students,which cannot be substituted.Headteachers are the hard core in schools.They are the organizers and leaders for constructing class and guiding students.Students are influenced greatly by their headteachers' behaviors,who are responsible for their study,school life,heath and thoughts.In a word,the initiative of headteachers affect the quality of education.However,many teachers are unwilling to be headteachers in high school in many counties and show little passion for their work.Thus,it is meaningful to have a survey about the initiative of headteachers.The present headteachers in a high school in the city L have been surveyed.Through studying some documents,completing questionnaires interviewing with some headteachers,things about headteachers' initiative can be known better so that more constructive strategies and suggestions can be put forward to motivate them to work actively.Through the questionnaire survey,it is founded that the overall work enthusiasm of the head teacher of E Middle School in the L is not high.The current situation of the work enthusiasm of the head teacher is mainly manifested in the following six aspects:the utilitarian purpose of serving as a class teacher is obvious,the work recognition of the head teacher is not high,the work performance of the head teacher is not active enough,the ambition of the head teacher's work is lacking,the self-recognitiom of the head teacher's is good,and the head teacher's work goals are firm.In conclusion,the reasons why they show little passion for work are as follows.Firstly,they couldn't handle the pressure in this job.Besides,the incentive mechanism is imperfect.Lastly,the growth as headteachers is slow.Therefore,some exact measures will be put forward to encourage them to work actively,such as,relieving their stress,improving the incentive mechanism and raising their comprehensive abilities etc.
