In the process of junior middle school students' learning mathematics,problem-solving teaching is a very important item, and the key is to find the breakthrough of problem-solving.The key point of visual thinking is to help students find a breakthrough of their own knowledge and solve problems.Mind map is composed of multiple elements, including words, symbols, themes, keywords, nodes, graphics, etc.it is a map showing human brain thinking from all angles and levels. In the process of solving mathematical problems, each problem type can have different solutions, and each problem can also have different ideas for solving problems, which can fully investigate students' mastery of knowledge and their ability to use knowledge to solve problems.Mathematical problem solving can fully deepen students' understanding of their knowledge blind spot and solve the missing part of their knowledge system. The learning method of mind mapping is to take students as the main body, breaking the traditional teaching mode that teachers speak and students are completely led by teachers' ideas. It can enable students to gradually build their own knowledge system and problem-solving ideas in the process of thinking, improve students' thinking ability, and then improve students' academic performance. In the process of research, this paper combines theory with practice, and tries to teach students how to use mind map to help solve problems in junior middle school mathematics exercise class,so as to fully divergent students' thinking.First of all, through the observation of the learning situation of grade 9 students in class, through the preliminary investigation of the current situation of the application of mind mapping in mathematics problem-solving teaching in junior middle school,it is found that there are the following problems in today's mathematics exercise class: there is a lack of effective interaction between students and teachers in class; When drawing the mind map, students can't draw, can't analyze the central theme or key words, and students lack certain thinking association ability; The process of drawing mind map to help students solve problems is relatively stiff, and there is a lack of personalized design for different types of questions. Therefore, combined with the students' learning situation and different processing methods of various types of questions, the author formulates a specific teaching scheme of using mind map to help students solve problems in mathematics exercise class, and carries out experimental research in practical teaching. Finally, the results of experimental research are analyzed through concept questionnaire and ability test paper to test the effect of mind map in practical problem-solving teaching.Through the research, the following conclusions are drawn: using mind map to solve mathematical problems can improve students' mathematical performance, especially those with medium grades; It is conducive to stimulate students' interest in learning and improve students' problem-solving ability.
