Geometry teaching in junior middle school is a difficult problem that all junior middle school teachers must face.Logical reasoning ability plays an important role in geometry learning.However,there are many geometric concepts,properties and theorems,as well as various geometric shapes and abundant geometric languages,which bring difficulties to students in geometric reasoning.In order to help students solve problems,the author carried out a research on the geometry teaching of junior middle school oriented to logical reasoning.The eighth grade is a key stage in the development of geometry in junior middle school,with eighth grade students as the research object.This study focuses on three issues: First,students' motivation in geometry learning;Second,current situation of students' geometric thinking level;Third,in the course of teaching,whether guiding teaching practice based on Van Hiele's geometry teaching theory has positive effect on stimulating students' learning motivation and improving students' geometric thinking level.This study adopts the method of literature research,questionnaire survey,interview survey,test volume survey and classroom observation.Firstly,by reading literatures,the research status of learning motivation and geometric thinking level at home and abroad is sorted out.Secondly,problems in students' geometry learning were summarized through interviews with teachers,and teaching suggestions were put forward.Thirdly,based on Van Hiele's geometrical thinking level theory,the test volume is compiled.Finally,according to the results of questionnaire survey,teacher interview and test paper,the teaching practice is guided by Van Hiele's geometry teaching theory.Through the research above,the following conclusions are finally obtained: Firstly,study students' geometric learning motivation from the five aspects of learning interest,belief,attribution,goal and partner,and find that students have low levels of motivation in geometric learning;Secondly,most of the students' geometric thinking level focuses on the level of 2-analysis and the level of 3-informal deduction,and only a small number of students reach the level of 4-formal deduction.It shows that the geometric thinking level of grade 8 students is not high,and their reasoning ability is not strong.Finally,it is beneficial for Van Hiele's geometry teaching theory to guide the teaching design.It is proved by practice that the teaching under the guidance of this theory has certain promoting effect on cultivating students' learning motivation and developing their geometric reasoning ability.
