Diversified teaching content and teaching methods have become a major feature of the information technology course."Open source hardware project design" as a set of hands-on practice, innovation and creation as one of the teaching content is widely favored by teachers and students. At the same time, the wonderful teaching content puts forward higher requirements on the teaching model. At present, there are still some problems in the open source hardware class in primary schools, such as attaching more importance to technology than integration, and attaching more importance to imitation than creation.Teaching is difficult to get rid of the shackles of technical learning.Innovation is still talking on paper.Based on this, this study tries to build a teaching model based on design thinking from the perspective of creativity cultivation,so as to provide an effective teaching method for open source hardware unit teaching in primary schools. The research content of this study is mainly divided into three parts.Firstly,on the basis of design thinking model, the open source hardware teaching model of primary schools is constructed. On the basis of Tim Brown’s three-stage model of design thinking and combining with the characteristics of open source hardware teaching units, this study constructs two teaching modes that aim at the cultivation of students’ innovation ability,namely,"imitation-variant" and "deconstruction-variant" teaching modes based on design thinking.Secondly, the constructed teaching model is put into practice in the open source hardware classroom in primary schools. The objects of this study are 82 students from the fourth grade of K Primary School in Nanjing. The two experimental classes used "imitation-variant" and "deconstruction-variant" teaching modes respectively, while the control class used the conventional teaching mode. The teaching process is divided into two stages, and the difficulty of design is gradually increasing.During the teaching process, students’ performance is recorded and class works are collected. Finally,it evaluates the teaching effect by data quantization and works quantization, and compares the difference of students’ learning effect under different modes.According to the results of data analysis, the three conclusions can be drawn:(1)The application of teaching mode based on design thinking in primary school open source hardware unit is feasible and effective. After two stages of teaching experiments,it is found that the teaching mode based on design thinking is significantly better than the conventional mode in the aspects of learning and ability cultivation.(2)The teaching mode based on design thinking can promote the diversification of students’ classroom works.According to the results of work analysis, nearly half of the students in both experimental classes can design and create creative works, which is significantly different from the single works produced in the conventional class.(3)The teaching mode with high student independence is better than the teaching mode with low student independence in terms of teaching effect, which is mainly reflected in three aspects of students’ mastery of knowledge, creativity and willingness to continue learning. The results show that the score of "deconstruction-variant" class is significantly higher than that of the other two classes in the three aspects.Although the difference between "imitation-variant" class and conventional teaching class is not significant, its mean value is higher than that of conventional teaching class.Analyzing the reasons,it is found that among the three teaching modes, the "deconstructionvariant" teaching mode has the largest independent space in the class for students, while the traditional teaching mode has the lowest. It can be concluded that the teaching mode that gives students sufficient independent space can achieve better teaching effect. In general, the application of the teaching mode based on design thinking in the open source hardware unit of primary schools can achieve the expected effect of cultivating creativity and promote the diversification of students’ classroom works.Teachers can flexibly choose the teaching mode based on design thinking according to their own needs and the situation of students. |
