In junior high school,Graphics and geometry are the vital content in mathematics teaching.Students' geometric intuition,spayital concept and reasoning ability can be promoted by its research and study.Graphics and geometry are also the key areas of entrance examination,which is the main way to improve the core literacy of students' intuitive imagination.Graphic variation,graphic nature and graphic and coordinate are the teaching content of junior high scholl in new course standard.What's more,the Pythagorean Theorem,as the eternal definite principle and as the content of the chapter 1 of the grade 8,it's significant for the subsequent application.It is the origin of figure and geometry and it develops students' medset of geometry from analyzsis and informal deduction to formal deduction.However,in practical teaching,it is not sanguine for students to learn graphic contents,and there are some problems in the learning,understanding and application of Pythagorean Theorem.The paper,based on Van Hiele levels theory,eighth graders of Chao Hai Junior High school in Qingdao as the research object,chooses the 325 research samples.Firstly,the students' thinking level is investigated through the test,and the students' thinking levels are divided.Secondly,with the analysis results of proficiency test as data support,two classes with similar thinking level are choosen and one is implemented the teaching design and practice of Pythagorean Theorem under the guidance of Van Hill Theory and Zone of proximal development theory.Finally,after teaching practice,the two classes were tested again on the level of geometric thinking and Pythagorean theorem for analysis and research.Through the investigation of Van Hill's geometric thinking level,it is found that most of the students are at the level of analysis and informal deduction,which provides data support for teaching practice.Through the research and analysis of the teaching practice of Pythagorean Theorem,it is shown that the teaching of Pythagorean Theorem based on Van Hill Theory is beneficial to improve students' achievement of Pythagorean Theorem and their level of geometric thinking,and some useful teaching suggestions are put forward.
