With the goal of building a "learning society" in China and the intensification of talent competition in the international community,the research on learning has become a hot topic discussed by scholars,and the study of learning ability is one of them.In modern society,learning ability plays an important role in individual learning activities and is the decisive factor for learning subjects to obtain high quality learning results.The learning ability of college students is an important foundation of higher education quality and an important index to observe the teaching effect of colleges and universities.So what is learning ability? What are the elements of learning? What is the impact of college students' learning ability on their learning effectiveness? What factors affect college students' learning ability?How to improve the learning ability of college students? These basic studies have important theoretical and practical significance to promote the quality of talent training in colleges and universities.Based on the investigation tool of "Chinese College students' Learning and Development tracking Research(China College Student Survey CCSS)",this study constructs the structure of college students' learning ability,measures the learning ability of college students,and explores the influence of learning ability on learning effect.And the factors that affect learning ability.On this basis,the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the learning ability of college students are put forward.The text structure of the research paper is divided into seven parts: the first and second chapters are introduction and literature review.This paper introduces the main ideas of this study,the progress of related literature research,which lays a foundation for this study,and the third chapter is the structure and level of college students' learning ability.Based on the CCSS survey data and questionnaire related items,the four-dimensional structure of college students' learning ability is constructed.On the basis of calculating the index value of learning ability,the present situation of college students' learning ability and the difference of learning ability between different demographic variables are analyzed.The fourth chapter is the influence of college students' learning ability on learning effect.It is the focus and innovation of this study to explore the relationship between the four-dimensional structure of college students' learning ability and the influence of the fourdimensional elements on the learning effect.The fifth and sixth chapters are the influencing factors of college students' learning ability and the promotion strategies of college students' learning ability.This paper probes into the factors that affect students' learning ability,such as individual,family,teacher and school,and puts forward some strategies to improve college students' learning ability.The main findings are as follows:(1)The results of confirmatory factor analysis show that learning ability has a four-dimensional structure of learning motivation,learning attitude,learning activities and learning strategies,among which learning strategies include exploratory learning,reflective learning and cooperative learning.The learning ability structure fitting index is good,can be used to measure the learning ability level.(2)The overall learning ability of the sample schools is at the upper-middle level.There is no significant difference in the learning ability of male and female students,and the average value of female students is slightly larger than that of male students,and there are significant differences between urban and rural areas,whether the first generation of college students and different grades of college students.From the average point of view,the learning ability level of rural household registration students is higher than that of urban students,and that of non-first generation college students is higher than that of the first generation college students,and the higher the grade,the higher the learning ability level.(3)The study on the influence of four-dimensional elements of learning ability on learning effectiveness found that learning motivation,learning attitude and learning activities in the fourdimensional structure of learning ability had significant positive effects on learning effectiveness;learning motivation had significant positive effects on learning attitude and learning activities;learning attitude and learning activities played an intermediary role in the relationship between learning motivation and learning effectiveness,respectively;learning attitude and learning activities had a chain intermediary effect in the role of learning motivation on learning effectiveness;and learning strategies played a significant positive regulatory role in activities on learning effectiveness.(4)It is found that the individual characteristics of students,family,teachers and school all have influence on the learning ability of college students,but the degree of influence is different.Among all the factors,the most significant influence on learning motivation,learning attitude,learning activities are students' grade factors,and the most significant influence on learning strategies is teachers' effective teaching practice.(5)The strategies for improving learning ability include: first,excavating learning motivation and improving learning ability at the root;second,improving learning strategies to effectively promote learning ability;third,focusing on family influence and enhancing students' learning ability;fourth,improving teachers' effective teaching and improving students' learning ability;and fifth,creating a high-quality school environment to effectively support learning ability.
