Children are a special Chinese learning group,and teaching Chinese to overseas children is an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.China attaches great importance to the development of teaching Chinese to overseas children,and has specially developed the Youth Chinese Test(YCT)for learners under the age of 15 who use Chinese as a second language.At the same time,various Chinese textbooks for overseas children have been compiled.The rapid development of overseas Chinese education has put forward higher requirements for the quantity,variety and quality of Chinese Textbooks,but the current situation of them cannot meet these needs.Primary Chinese Textbooks have been developed and improved for 70 years since the founding of New China,and it can be said to be a set of mature and excellent textbooks.And the Chinese Textbooks published by the Ministry of Education Press is currently the most authoritative and representative Primary Chinese textbooks in China,which has played a key role in bringing up the Chinese literacy and ability of students in our country.Therefore,this article selects the "Zhongwen" textbooks published by Jinan University and Primary Chinese Textbooks published by the Ministry of Education Press as the research objects,using literature research methods,comparative analysis methods,data analysis methods and other research methods to analyze the Similarities,differences and their respective advantages among the concepts,structure,texts and Chinese characters,etc.The study found that the " Zhongwen " textbooks focus on grammar and oral training,and its teaching of Chinese characters is more visual and intuitive.In addition,its text is equipped with exquisite illustrations,etc.The Primary Chinese Textbooks focus on the overall improvement of the Chinese,with obvious unit themes,flexible structural design,and diverse subjects.On this basis,this article puts forward four suggestions for the compilation of Chinese textbooks for Children of Ethnic Chinese: Design the textbook structure based on the students' academic conditions,so that the textbook structure has a unified style and full of changes;Drawing lessons from the unit theme consciousness of The Primary Chinese Textbooks,and arranging knowledge points step by step;Pay attention to the interestingness of the selected essays,and select and compile some new articles based on the characteristics of the times;Learn from various types of exercises in Primary Chinese Textbooks,increase open exercises,stimulate students' imagination and creativity;Learn from the principle of "recognition and writing separately" in Primary Chinese Textbooks,recognize more and write less that can reduce the burden of students,when learning Chinese characters;Learn from compilation of Primary Chinese Textbooks,design practical activities,let students learn Chinese happily.
