School children aged 6-12 years old are primary school students.Life in such a stage means that it begins to enter the initial part of socialization,gradually gets away from the complete control of their family.They have their own social and life and they begin to study and live in the school,and learn to get along with their classmates and teachers.Although they have the right to choose and socialize independently,they still need the financial and emotional support of the family,which is also the right of school children and needs the guardian to support them.School children are born after 2000 so that they are the one growing up in the complete period of network development,and their parents are also the group with the network.While different two generations use different ways and have different attitudes of Internet.Merowitz's theory holds that every new media appears with the change of the communication situation,so that people in this new communication situation will create so much new behavior.Compared with the traditional media using in family,network has the characteristics of digital,virtual,instant and interact.Now,in the family communication of school-age children,the most common media are children's smart watches,smart phones and tablets.These electronic devices carry the network media to create a new situation,break the limitations of face-to-face interpersonal communication,and realize remote virtual scene communication.The paper finds that the using Internet plays a significant role in family communication by the method of depth interview.On the one hand,breaking the geographical restrictions,family communication can interact each other at anytime and anywhere which increases time between parents and children.The interesting topics emerging in the network enrich the communication between parents and children and the open information is conducive to the mutual understanding between parents and children.On the other hand,the media dependence that the network may bring will reduce the communication between parents and children and make them indulge in their own network media world.The extra need for electronic devices may cause conflicts between parents and children.
