A Study On The Involvement Of Social Work In The Plight Of Factual Orphans

As the case of starving to death of a girl in Nanjing in 2013 was exposed by the online media,"de facto orphan" once became a social buzzword,and de facto orphan relief has become the focus of the society and the government.It was not until June 2019 that China issued the first security policy for the group of "de facto orphans".At present,the assistance and assistance to de facto orphans in our country is still in the exploration and initial stage,and the problem of helping factual orphans get rid of their growing predicament has become increasingly prominent.Based on the practice of the author participating in the internship organization's project of caring for factual orphans,this paper takes 20 factual orphans in Y area as the research object.combined with the methods of literature,observation and interview,this paper studies and analyzes the plight of factual orphans in Y area,probes into the reasons why factual orphans in Y area are trapped in the predicament of growth in the process of social work intervention,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to alleviate the difficult problem of helping factual orphans.Based on the ecosystem theory,this paper first analyzes the growth dilemma system of de facto orphans from three aspects: micro,meso and macro: the physiological and psychological hidden dangers of de facto orphans;At the middle level,the support from family and peer group is insufficient;Macro level,social care and policy relief lag.Secondly,in order to further analyze the causes of the de facto orphans' dilemma,one of the 20 de facto orphans in Y area was selected as the service object for social work case intervention,so as to improve the external environment of de facto orphans,broaden the social support network of de facto orphans,and integrate social resources to help de facto orphans gradually extricate themselves from the dilemma.Finally,this paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the problems existing in social worker intervention of de facto orphans in Y area.
