Language is an important way to convey information and ideas.High school geography curriculum highlights the characteristics of geographical environment and the relationship between people and geographical environment,with comprehensive and regional characteristics,requiring students to have the ability to use scientific,standardized,comprehensive and spatial geographical language for oral and written expression.The cultivation of students' geographical language expression ability is of far-reaching significance for improving students' academic achievement,developing geographical thinking and stimulating their interest in learning.Research to develop the students' ability of geographic language for the purpose,through the analysis of the geography of students test and questionnaire investigation on the high school geography teachers,analyzed the high grade students of geographical language to express the main existing problems and the influencing factors,and using classroom observation found that theme situational teaching to cultivate the students' language competence advantages and deficiencies.The research shows that the scientific and normative expression of the conceptual issues of geography needs to be improved,and the comprehensive and spatial expression of the conceptual issues of geography needs to be improved.At the same time,the research shows that thematic situational teaching has its unique advantages in cultivating students' geographical language expression ability,but it also has some shortcomings,so it should be more reasonable to use thematic situational teaching to cultivate students' geographical language expression ability.According to the requirements of the cultivation of geographical language expression ability of senior high school students and the characteristics of theme-based situational teaching,this paper proposes that theme-based situational teaching should cultivate students' geographical language expression ability.At the same time,teachers and students should play the main role in teaching,actively adopt the use of maps,reasonable evaluation,strengthening training and other teaching strategies to cultivate students' geographical language expression ability.Through the design and implementation of two teaching cases to illustrate how to train students' geographical language expression ability in teaching,and the effect of the training of students' geographical language expression ability performance evaluation.The results show that thematic situational teaching enriches the context of students' geographical language expression,attaches importance to the construction of textbook knowledge based on the context and the application of new knowledge to explore the context,and improves the scientific,normative,comprehensive and spatial expression of students' geographical language in the teaching process.
