Rabindranath Tagore said that the purpose of education should be to transmit the information of life to human beings.However,with the rapid development of science and technology,the social problems of junior high school students have become increasingly prominent,and incidents of disregard of life have occurred frequently,the call for education to return to the essence of life is also increasing,The realistic demand make life education pregnant.Biology,as a subject which studies life phenomena and the laws of life activities,it contains rich life education materials and has great advantages in implementing life education.As a result,it takes the " Eighth Grade Book Two by PEP" as an example in this paper to carry out the practice research on the implementation of life education in junior high school biology teaching,It aims to explore the organic combination of life education and biology courses and helps students establish a correct view of life.In this research,it uses the literature method to consult and collect the literature related to life education,so as to introduce the connotation of life and life education,the current situation of life education research at home and abroad,and the theoretical basis of this research,Then,using the questionnaire to investigate the students’ life consciousness from the five dimensions of understanding life,survival skills,life health,awe of nature and life value,it combined with the interview results of teachers to analyze the current situation and demand of life education in school.Based on the results of the survey and the biology curriculum standards of the Compulsory Education(2011 edition),it determines the principles of life education and constructs the practical strategies for junior high school biology to Implementing life education,that is,to establish the goal of life education,to excavate and arrange the materials about life education in the textbooks,to adopt diversified teaching methods.After that,it takes the biology textbooks of grade eight of the PEP as the carrier and to conduct a one-semester study of the practice research on the basis of following the principles of life education.Finally,it summarizes and analyzes the problems encountered in the process of teaching practice,which then makes the reflection and puts forward the corresponding suggestions.Through the practice research for a semester,it has achieved some achievements,which are summarized as follows: The implementation of life education in junior high school biology teaching has improved students’ life consciousness,In addition,it has also promoted the professional development of teachers themselves and enriched the school’s education activities.However,there are also the following problems in the teaching process:(1)Some students pay little attention to life education;(2)Teachers’ own factors restrict the development of life education;(3)The lack of life education in the school itself;(4)The development of life education resources has not formed a joint force.According to the author’s in-depth exploration on the problems encountered in the research,it puts forward the following suggestions:(1)Constructing the evaluation system of life education;(2)Enhancing literacy and Improving teachers’ life education skills;(3)Integrating and attaching importance to cross-penetration with other disciplines;(4)Multiple coordination,Forming a collective education force.
