The novel works reflect and express real social life and rich ideological connotation.For senior high school students who are in the critical period of learning and development,reading novels actively and effectively can improve their reading ability and aesthetic appreciation ability,and it is also beneficial to the improvement and cultivation of their ideological realm and personality quality.The theory of horizon of expectation is the core category of reception aesthetics.It emphasizes the reader’s dominant position in reading,pays attention to the reader’s aesthetic emotion,encourages the reader to read creatively,and pays attention to the fusion of horizons.This is in line with the important concepts advocated in the Chinese Curriculum Criteria for Ordinary Senior High School(2017 edition,revised in 2020)and the goals and requirements of Chinese novel teaching in senior high school.As a result,there are more and more attempts and researches to introduce the theory of horizon of expectation into Chinese novel teaching in senior high school,but they are basically covered in the research of the application of reception aesthetics in Chinese reading teaching or novel teaching in senior high school and the overall research of the application of the theory of horizon of expectation in Chinese reading teaching in senior high school.At present,there is no research on the application of the theory of horizon of expectation in Chinese novel teaching in senior high school.Therefore,this paper attempts to introduce the theory of horizon of expectation into the teaching of Chinese novels in senior high school,and discusses the specific application strategies of the theory of horizon of expectation in the teaching of Chinese novels in senior high school,mainly including the following six parts: the introduction mainly discusses the origin of the topic,the research status at home and abroad,the significance of the topic and the research methods.The first chapter of the main body defines the concept of horizon of expectation,simply combs the development process of the concept,and expounds the theoretical connotation of horizon of expectation,including the basic content,basic level,fusion of horizon,and the important role of horizon of expectation in reading.The second chapter expounds the feasibility of applying the theory of horizon of expectation to the teaching of Chinese novels in senior high school,mainly from three aspects: the core point of the theory of horizon of expectation and the teaching concept in the Chinese Curriculum Criteria for ordinary senior high school(2017 edition,revised in 2020),the fit of the teaching objectives and requirements of Chinese novels in senior high school,and the support of senior high school students’ cognitive structure and interpretation methods.The third chapter is based on the analysis of the basic situation,writing characteristics and questionnaire data of the current situation of Chinese novel teaching in senior high school.Combined with relevant teaching cases,it discusses the problems existing in the current Chinese novel teaching in senior high school.The fourth chapter,on the basis of the previous article,mainly discusses the application strategy of the theory of horizon of expectation in senior high school Chinese novel teaching,seizing the relevant learning requirements of senior high school Chinese novel teaching,from the perspective of students’ horizon of expectation,enriching students’ cognitive structure,based on Students’ directional expectation and innovation expectation,encouraging students to achieve creative reading and building dialogue platform,to achieve multiple horizons Integration of three aspects of specific application strategy.In the fifth chapter,on the basis of specific strategies,based on the theory of horizon of expectation,the author makes specific teaching design and comments on the two novels “the man in the condom” and“blessing”.It is believed that applying the theory of horizon of expectation to novel teaching properly and reasonably can effectively improve the current situation of Chinese novel teaching in senior high school and promote the development of Chinese novel teaching in senior high school.
