After entering the new school,the first graders have to adapt to it all over again,which includes new teachers,new classmates even parents' new requirements and new study tasks.Therefore,they need to be instructed and intervened in every aspect.Junior high school stage is very important in individual growth and development,which is also a crucial period.During the period,there is a huge change in individual mentality and body.While it is also the time that students need to get enrolled in junior high school,to face the entrance examination for senior high school and to turn into a middle school student from a pupil.In a completely different environment instead of the one they used to be familiar with,the first graders will feel nervous and inadaptive,which not only influences their study but also severely impairs their mental health and physical health.So far,society haven't put too much emphasis on school adaption of the first graders.Therefore,the research data about school adaption are inadequate,so are the systematical solutions to the problems.On the other hand,most junior middle schools emphasize on teaching and management without realizing the problem of school adaption for the first graders.It causes that most students cannot adapt to the study and life in the new school.What's worse,lacking in learning motivation and with a low study efficiency,they even tend to be weary of studying.Therefore,no matter which aspect is considered,the task of entering a higher school or students' mental health and physical health,school adaption for the first graders is a problem that needs solving soon.By collecting predecessors' research,this research uses literature research,questionnaire and interview to analyze school adaption for the first graders in all aspects.The whole process involves teachers and students.Through the research,it can be concluded that: In the four dimensions,the problems for academic adaptation and school attitude stand out.In the aspect of school attitude,the first graders have no sense of school belonging.While in terms of academic adaption,they cannot adapt to the change of homework.In the aspects of behavioral adaptation and interpersonal adaptation,they are nervous and distracted and they don't know how to get on well with new classmates.According to the interview with teachers and students,the reasons why the first graders cannot adapt to the new school can be concluded:1.Students cannot change their way of study and manage themselves.2.Schools leave out the period of school adaption.3.Teachers have different teaching methods and managements.In terms of the result,combining with Eight Stages of Development,according to the process of teenagers' physical and mental health,strategies can be concluded from three aspects: schools,teachers and students.First,schools should improve the fundamental construction,hold all kinds of cultural activities,set up mental health department and strengthen home-school cooperation.Then,teachers should improve their teaching ability,offer students encouragement and affirmation and adopt democratic management mode.Finally,students should know about themselves,make a suitable study plan and try to take part in every activity and make friends with others actively.
