In recent years,with the improvement of the new curriculum standards,the country has paid more and more attention to the all-round development and growth of students.In the process of students’ all-round development and growth,history is one of the most important factors.In the middle school history classroom,character teaching also constitutes one of the most important contents.This requires that in the process of classroom teaching,education and learning should be carried out by selecting appropriate characters,which can not only deepen students’ understanding of history,but also help students clarify the context of history,and students can slowly cultivate corresponding humanistic qualities in the whole learning process,thus better improving students’ personality.Therefore,this paper takes the history books of the seventh grade,the second volume,as an example,and makes a detailed analysis of the historical figures involved in the books in terms of quantity,category,age,gender,etc.After analysis,it can also be found that the arrangement of historical figures is of great significance to textbooks.If teachers can make good use of historical figures to guide students in the teaching process,it can not only improve students’ interest in learning,but also cultivate students’ humanistic quality,and students’ personality can be improved in the whole process.This paper will analyze the problems in the current history textbooks in detail from the aspects of the choice of textbook characters,students’ inherent cognition and the influence of teachers’ ideas on students.Moreover,this paper will focus on discussing the principles and specific implementation strategies of character teaching on a sub-basis.After the corresponding investigation,it is also found that the teaching process should follow the principles of vividness,authenticity and typicality.Teachers should prepare lessons carefully before class,and then adopt various methods to optimize the whole teaching process according to the actual situation in class.After class,students should be guided to study and discuss deeply through more in-depth inquiry activities,thus promoting the development of character teaching.Finally,this paper mainly takes the text "Emperor taizong of Tang" in the history book of the seventh grade,which is edited by the Ministry,as an example,and penetrates the above-mentioned theory into the actual teaching process,and makes the teaching theory more practical through reflection after teaching.
