Moral imagination is the ability to "empathize" with others’ emotions,thoughts and situations and creatively discover possible moral behaviors.It is also a new methodology of moral education.As the builder and successor of socialism,middle school students have rich moral imagination,which is the intrinsic requirement of their moral development.This not only helps to improve the effectiveness of moral theory courses,but also provides a powerful moral guarantee for the personal growth of middle school students.Therefore,it is urgent to cultivate the moral imagination of middle school students.In this paper,using literature method,questionnaire method,case method and interdisciplinary method,on the basis of established moral imagination theory connotation,the investigation and analysis the present situation and problems of middle school students’ moral imagination,find out the existing problems in the middle school students’ moral imagination and reason,thus cultivating way of middle school students’ moral imagination thinking.The first chapter mainly discusses the interpretation of the theory of moral imagination,including the definition of the concept of moral imagination and its related concept differentiation,the theoretical basis of moral imagination,the characteristics of moral imagination and the significance and value of moral imagination for the moral development of middle school students.The second chapter is a questionnaire survey on the status survey of the moral imagination of middle school students in China.The author divides the moral imagination of middle school students into four dimensions: moral consciousness,empathy,consequence imagination and comprehensive reflection.The third chapter is the existing problems in the middle school students’ moral imagination characterized to conduct a comprehensive and systematic analysis,mainly includes the general moral consciousness is low,the comprehensive reflection of the lack of creative thinking,empathy empathy ability still need to improve,the consequences to imagine dimension unbalanced development between students,a total of four aspects.The fourth chapter is to analyze the reasons for the problems of moral imagination of middle school students.Mainly from the utilitarian trend of students self-interest of moral awareness,teachers’ teaching thinking and innovative quality has not been updated,the implementation of the curriculum emphasizes theory and ignores the essence of morality,family to ignore the cultivation of students’ moral imagination and peculiar to the Chinese traditional moral culture "pattern of difference sequence" five aspects are analyzed.The fifth chapter,through the investigation of the present situation of the moral imagination of middle school students and the grasp of the practical significance of the moral imagination,ponders the cultivation path of the moral imagination of middle school students from five aspects: students themselves,teachers’ teaching,school curriculum,moral education environment and Chinese traditional virtues.
