Reception aesthetics attaches great importance to the position of readers in text reading,emphasizing the utility of readers’ past experience to the reading and analyzing as well as the open value of the text itself.The value of the text lies in the accepting process of the readers,being endowed with different new lives with different readers,and it is of extremely important significance for Chinese teaching.Now the study of foreign novels teaching from the theory of reception aesthetics help us to deeply understand the rules and characteristics of Chinese reading teaching,and it can also inspire us to explore the teaching methods of foreign novels.This paper is on how to better keep up with the new course standard of foreign novel teaching under the guidance of reception aesthetics theory.It enables the theory of reception aesthetics more practical in foreign novels teaching in high school.The paper tries to study by example the effectiveness of classroom teaching from the aspects of reader consciousness,horizon of expectation and appeal structure,re-examining the traditional teaching error.At the same time,it studies how to improve reading ability and position of students following the demand of the new course standard.The first chapter mainly introduces the origin of the study,illustrating the application of reception aesthetics idea to foreign novel teaching and feasibility with the new course standard.The second chapter generally introduces the problems of foreign novels teaching in the current high school and tries to seek new way out.The third chapter illustrates the implementation of the strategy in foreign novel teaching in high school in the concept of reception aesthetics.It mainly discusses the effect obtained after the introduction of reception aesthetics in three aspects.It discusses the changing effect because of the respect the reader consciousness.The fourth chapter,mainly illuminates the feedback under the guidance of reception aesthetics,including the students’ evaluation and the implementation strategy as well as the effect of extracurricular readings.At the same time,it also expounds the effect of reception aesthetics on cultivating students’ academic accomplishment.
