| With the development of the times,basic education has been expanded from pure knowledge education into quality education and ability cultivation.However,the teaching of each subject is isolated from each other in the current education sy STEM.The proposition of STEM education breaks the boundary between different disciplines.STEM education refers to the effective combination of science,technology,engineering,mathematics and even more subjects.It aims to settle problems and complete programs.Varies study activities such as independent studying,group cooperation are performed to focus on students’ study motivation,improve their practical ability of integrating,transferring and application of knowledge.By adopting literature research,this study sorts out the current situation of STEM education research all over the world and analyzes the status quo of STEM education research in biology education.Based on the review of the model structuring resource in the PEP edition of Biology textbook for high schools and STEM education,this paper tries to develop the model construction teaching under the concept of STEM education.The principle to apply STEM education into Biology model structuring is identified by studying the relevant teaching models of STEM education.Taking "making biofilm model" as the model-structuring project,the course will include two classes which is designed as a whole.In order to verify that STEM project is scientific and practical,it is performed finally.Questionnaire shows the feedback over seven points as below:85% of students are pretty interested in applying STEM education into biological model construction;95% of the students maintain a high level of recognition on application of STEM education in the construction of biological models.95% of students are convinced that STEM education cultivates the individual abilities in the process.88% of the students think that it is helpful to arouse learning interest and maintain attention when modeling.96% of the students believe that applying STEM education to biological modeling improves the team’s cooperative ability.95% of the students think that applying STEM education to biological modeling makes their learning more efficient.98% of the students agree and approve that it is more reasonable to evaluate them based on classroom performance,learning results and peer evaluation.Finally,according to the practice of STEM education,the conclusion and suggestion are as following:First,raise inter-disciplinary teachers with STEM education concept;Second,improve the hardware facility of the school;Third,focus on the student’s evaluation of the process;Fourth,guide students to design their career plans. |
