Since the beginning of the 21 st century,with the emergence and development of new technologies,the competition among high-tech talents has become more intense.The successful practice of STEM(Science,Technology,Engineering and Mathematics)education in the United States has made the international community pay more and more attention to the positive role of talent.STEM education is an educational concept and a subject or an education mode,based on the integration of science,technology,engineering and mathematics,and other subjects to cultivate students’ STEM literacy.The core idea of STEM education is similar to the basic idea put forward in the curriculum standard of biology for ordinary senior high school(2017 edition),and they have the same value orientation.Learning from the STEM education concept in biology is the need for the development of biology and students’ core literacy.It is also the demand for the national talent reserve.The research methods used in this study are mainly literature,comparative,case,questionnaire and interview.Firstly,through the literature review,browsing the STEM education website at home and abroad,the STEM education in the United States is researched,and the origin,connotation,type,organization and project-based STEM learning of STEM education are introduced and analyzed,and according to the properties of biology and The teaching attribute makes an appropriate analysis of STEM education and middle school biology teaching.It is believed that STEM education and middle school biology are mutually infiltrated and mutually promoted,and the two can learn from each other and make progress together.Secondly,under the guidance of STEM education concept,behavioral learning theory,cognitive learning theory,constructivist learning theory and the theory of “learning from doing”,according to some typical STEM education cases,openness,student subjectivity and practicality The middle school biology teaching model based on STEM education concept is constructed for the principle,and the main content of the teaching model is interpreted according to the method of factor analysis: the goal of teaching students designed to improve the core biological disciplines literacy and STEM literacy.Operating procedures for the creation of scenarios,identify problems or projects,cooperative inquiry,program development,program implementation,works display,exchange summary.The realization conditions are mainly analyzed from four aspects: students,teachers,schools and society.And the teaching evaluation advocates the use of diversified evaluation ideas.Under the guidance of this teaching mode,the author designed three teaching cases of“making a human heart model”,“making a DNA double helix structure model” and “I am a nutritionist”,collecting data through questionnaires and interviews to understand the teaching effect of teaching mode and students’ attitude towards the teaching mode,the data analysis results show that the teaching mode is feasible,can adapt to the teaching of middle school biology,and has a positive effect on the cultivation of core literacy and STEM literacy of biology.At the same time,some problems were found during the implementation of the case,such as limited teaching time,poor classroom discipline,and incomplete curriculum resources.In response to these problems,the author proposes that teachers should do the following when designing teaching cases: select appropriate teaching content,ensure the feasibility and effectiveness of the case;guide the overall design with the goal of teaching;adapt to local conditions,according to specific teaching Conditions for case design;fully consider the small-component cooperation among students to ensure the participation of all students;respect the status of students,and play the leading role of teachers.In summary,this study is based on the two dimensions of theory and practice to study the biology teaching model based on STEM education concept,which can provide some reference for the development of STEM education and the biology of middle school biology in China.
