The rapid development of information technology creates infinite possibilities for the field of education,which leads to profound changes in educational concepts and forms.New forms of education require a higher level of information literacy,which has become a basic literacy in today's society.College students are the pillars of the future society,they will become the mainstay of the whole society,will affect social development in many ways,so their information literacy level directly determines the height of social development to a certain extent.Therefore,the society puts forward higher requirements for the information literacy of college students,mainly reflected in the attention and demand of college students for information,the ability to deal with information,the mastery of information knowledge,the awareness of information property rights,etc.BIG6,as a popular information literacy training mode at home and abroad,can provide us with important ideas and methods.For this reason,this paper establishes a teaching mode of information literacy based on BIG6,and establishes an evaluation method of information literacy based on BIG6 with reference to the content of BIG6 as the basic element.The teaching practice is carried out with this teaching mode and evaluation method,and exploring a new way to cultivate college students' Information Literacy.The six steps in the BIG6 are carried out according to the process of information problem processing,with clear logic and complete and systematic design.According to the other research of BIG6,the information literacy training model based on BIG6 is divided into teacher level and student level in this paper.The specific content of BIG6 is used to design relevant teaching links.Each activity link provides teachers with teaching context and teaching framework,clarifies learning tasks for students,and builds learning scaffolding.According to the content of BIG6,the author divides the evaluation method into six dimensions.The evaluation content is compared with the operation requirements of BIG6,and the teaching mode and evaluation method are applied to the actual teaching.Before the teaching experiment,the author first made a survey of the current situation of the students' information literacy level in our school.In the survey,it was found that most of the students were able to define their own tasks,but there were still quite a number of students who could not get the information they wanted in time and accurately,and rarely reflected and evaluated the process and results of their information problem solving.Then the author makes a correlation analysis of the level of information literacy,taking the background of the interviewees as a variable,analyzes whether there are differences among different groups in various aspects of information literacy,in order to provide reference for teaching practice.After understanding the actual situation of the students,the author chose two classes with the same initial level of information literacy as the experimental objects.One of the classes was selected to carry out teaching according to the teaching mode of information literacy based on BIG6,and guided students to evaluate and reflect on themselves.The other class carried out teaching according to the traditional method.After the teaching,The author uses the BIG6 based evaluation method established in this study to test the two classes again,and makes statistical analysis of the information literacy level of the control class and the experimental class.At the same time,according to each link of BIG6 teaching,the author interviews the students to understand their problems and performance in the whole learning process.It has been proved that the teaching mode of information literacy based on BIG6 proposed in this paper can effectively improve the abilities of all aspects of BIG6 evaluation methods in this study,and then comprehensively improve the information literacy level of college students.
