Mathematics is the study of quantitative relations and spatial relations of a discipline.In the primary mathematics curriculum,"number and Algebra" and "graphics and geometry" on the number and shape of the main responsibilities of teaching,has been the main content of mathematics.The content of the course "figure and geometry" is to measure,move and change position on the basis of knowing the figure,its significance is to help students understand the surrounding space environment,enhance the ability of space perception of the world,as well as to develop students' space concept,geometry intuition and space imagination.Therefore,in the study of this part of the curriculum,from learning and understanding of knowledge to hands-on operation and problem-solving,students need to carry out corresponding activities such as thinking and understanding and hands-on operation,it is an important "training ground" for students' spatial concept as well as the breadth and depth of thinking.This study used classroom observation,interview,questionnaire and text analysis to survey the teachers and students of grade three and grade four in a primary school in Zhengzhou,the investigation was carried out from the aspects of teachers' teaching preparation,teaching implementation,teaching reflection,students' learning interest,learning method application and learning effect.The survey found that there are some problems in the current teaching of "graphics and geometry" in the middle part of primary school,such as the importance of teaching design over "learning",the incompact relation between teaching content and life,the lack of depth in the use of new media teaching methods,the shallow content of teaching reflection,the insufficiency of students' practical operation and reasoning and generalization ability.The above problems are caused by teachers' insufficient cognition of geometry teaching theory,teachers' neglect of students' subjective status,teachers' lack of scientific and effective guidance to students' learning process,the teaching evaluation system still paying too much attention to students' achievements,and teachers' lack of professional development ability.Therefore,in order to improve the teaching ability of teachers and the learning effect of students in the teaching of "figure and geometry" in the middle part of primary school,teachers need to strengthen the learning of geometry teaching theory,improve the teachinglevel,study the teaching standards carefully and internalize the teaching requirements;Pay attention to the practicality of the teaching content,strengthen the guidance of the students' learning process,and improve their professional development ability.It is expected that these investigation and the corresponding teaching strategy research can bring some help to the teaching of front-line teachers.
