As an important part of mathematics curriculum in primary school,"Graphics and Geometry" has always been the focus of mathematics teaching in primary school.It plays an irreplaceable role in developing primary school students' concept of space,cultivating good thinking ability and helping them to better understand the spatial world on where they live.It also lays an important foundation for the cultivation of students' spatial imagination in the future middle school stage.However,because of the abstraction of geometric content and the weak thinking ability of primary school students,"Graphics and Geometry" has always been the most afraid of teaching,the most difficult to teach,and also the most difficult for students to learn.At present,the research on "Graphics and Geometry" in primary school is mainly limited to instructional design and reflection,so this research selects the students and teachers of the second learning stage in primary school as the object of research.This research attempts to find out the problems and shortcomings in the teaching of "Graphics and Geometry" by the teachers of Primary School A in Y City through various investigations,and then analyzes the reasons for the problems,and finally puts forward feasible improved strategies from global perspective.First of all,on the basis of combing and analyzing the existing academic achievements,the research determined the teaching of "Graphics and Geometry" in the second learning stage of A Primary School in Y City as the object of research.Then this research adopts the research method of questionnaire survey,teacher interview,student interview and classroom observation to carry out in-depth investigation on the six aspects of "Graphics and Geometry",including teachers' understanding of the connotation and significance of the teaching,teaching goal,teaching content,teaching methods,design of exercises,and evaluation method.Through the investigation,it is found that the main problems existing in the teaching of "Graphics and Geometry" are as follows:the design of the teaching objectives does not fully consider the students' situation and lack of maneuverability;the handling of the teaching contents is not closely related to the life;lack of exploration and cooperation in teaching methods;lack of creative and diversified exercise design;lack of hierarchical and dynamic evaluation in teaching evaluation.The main reasons for these problems are that the teachers do not have an accurate grasp of the students' geometric thinking level,the teachers' research on the teaching materials is not deep enough,and it is difficult to implement the inquiry activity.In view of these problems,the main improved strategies are as follows:the design of the teaching objectives of "Graphics and Geometry" should be based on the students' geometric thinking level;the teaching content of"Graphics and Geometry" should be dynamic and life-oriented;the teaching methods of"Graphics and Geometry" should pay attention to the comprehensive application of multiple methods,such as exploration and cooperation;exercises on "Graphics and Geometry" should pay attention to variable processing;and the learning evaluation of "Graphics and Geometry"should pay attention to stratification and motivation.
