Facing the background of innovation-driven development,STEM education has important educational value for cultivating innovative and compound talents.in recent years,STEM education has become more and more educational hot spots in many countries.with its interdisciplinary integration nature,it integrates science,technology,engineering and mathematics(STEM)subjects to study and cultivate students’ STEM literacy.science education as an important content of STEM education,the reform demands of primary school science curriculum in our country coincide with its interdisciplinary integrated learning concept,and the design of STEM theme unit activities with primary school science curriculum as the main line of content is of great significance to improve students’ scientific learning achievements.This paper aims to explore the STEM theme unit design strategy and provide some strategies for science teachers to design STEM theme unit.This research mainly uses the literature method,the case analysis method,the questionnaire survey and the interview method to carry on the research.Firstly,by discussing the value of STEM education,the reform demand of primary school science curriculum and the value of STEM subject unit learning,the research theme of "STEM theme unit design strategy in primary school science curriculum" is determined.Secondly,by combing the research status of STEM education,primary school science education,and STEM education integration at home and abroad,it is understood that domestic STEM education is still in the development stage,foreign countries have a relatively complete,rich and mature primary and secondary school STEM education system,there are many high-quality STEM theme unit cases,less with primary school science curriculum as the main line to design STEM theme unit,reflect the innovation of this study.Moreover,through the case analysis method,the selected STEM education case type is analyzed,and the representative STEM theme unit case is selected to analyze its objectives,content selection,content organization and activities,as well as student evaluation methods,and to analyze and summarize.Finally,combining with the relevant theoretical basis and case analysis conclusion,this paper puts forward the design strategy of STEM theme unit in primary school science curriculum,including design idea,link and strategy(STEM the source and determination basis of theme unit,establishing the connection of subject knowledge structure,defining main learning concept and activity,organizing and designing of unit activity and content,evaluation method of subject unit),combining design strategy,Design a STEM theme unit with "leverage" in primary school science curriculum content,And through the teacher interview method to evaluate its case...
