A Case Study Of Elementary School Science Teaching In STEM Field

With the continuous advancement of the new round of curriculum reform,Science(S)-Technology(T)-Engineering(E)-Mathematics(M)education(i.e.STEM education)is gradually being known,especially since the publication of the White Paper on Chinese STEM education by the Chinese Academy of Educational Sciences,STEM has been included in the content of science education.STEM education is a learning process based on context,project and design,which needs the integration of science,technology,engineering and mathematics.STEM education has the characteristics of comprehensiveness,diversity,openness,and situational.,and STEM teaching is carried out in schools and even universities abroad.In the reform of basic education Science course,STEM education is combined with science education gradually,it is the new paradigm of science education development.Especially in the newly revised "Science curriculum standard of primary School",it advocates STEM teaching in order to cultivate students ' interest and innovation ability,promote STEM education from theory to practice and improve the quality of science teaching in primary schools.Based on the thinking of STEM teaching mode and the current situation of developing primary school science curriculum in China,in this paper,the sixth class of "Environment and us " in six grade "sewage and sewage treatment" as the starting point,I designed and practiced the STEM course "sewage and sewage treatment",in the course of carrying out and after the teaching test,I find that the science curriculum for STEM teaching has a powerful charm,it can more effectively arouse students ' interest in learning,contribute to the formation of scientific literacy,scientific thinking and the cultivation of scientific ability,inspire students to study science,love science,understand science,stem teaching mode is a new attempt of science class,It is also helpful to cultivate innovative,scientific and all-round talents in our country.
