Research On The Rupture And Reconstruction Of Intimate Relationship Among Unmarried Female Youth

Youth is the future of a country and the hope of a nation.The state has always attached great importance to,cared for and trusted young people,and fully accommodated their interests,concerns and practical needs in an effort to give them a greater sense of gain.The medium and long-term youth development plan(2016-2025)clearly states that the focus should be on providing marriage services to unmarried young people of an older age.Compared with unmarried young men of older age,the high proportion of unmarried young women of older age are facing great pressure of public opinion and are labeled,stigmatized or demonized.Having a long-term and stable intimate relationship is related to the individual and the national society.Although this group of unmarried young women are in urgent need,they fail to construct and continue the intimate relationship due to many factors.This paper adopts qualitative research method to interview the 10 female youth aged 30 to 35,they had constructed but broken the intimate relationship in the past,including five female youth who attempt to reconstruct intimate relationship but has not yet succeed,the other five female youth have successfully reconstructed intimate relationship from the broken intimate relationship,so as to explore their attribution to the rupture and reconstruction of intimate relationship.It is found that the reasons for the breakdown of intimate relationship of unmarried young women include personality trait problem,conflict of values,conflict of living habits,lack of emotional experience,divergence of future development plan and negative conflict resolution strategies.The attributions of intimate relationship reconstruct include the change of mate selection criteria,self-reconciliation,positive change,the influence of significant others,the interaction between connected parties and the recognition of intimate relationship.Young women with broken intimate relationship adopt more negative strategies to solve conflicts,mainly including refusal to retreat and competitive attack.The young women who reconstructed their intimate relationship adopted more active strategies to solve the conflicts,including the integration compromise type,the avoidance transfer type and the compromise transfer type.At the same time,the three conflict strategies intersect in conflict resolution.Young women with the rupture of intimate relationship tend to make external attributions for the rupture of intimate relationship,and young women with the reconstruction of intimate relationship tend to combine internal and external causes for the reconstruction of intimate relationship.External attribution of the rupture of intimate relationship is usually not conducive to the reconstruction of intimate relationship.This paper puts forward some suggestions on the reconstruction of intimate relationship among unmarried young women: lower the standard of mate selection and return to the essence of love;learn to replace thinking and adopt positive conflict resolution strategies;renew yourself,improve yourself;understand gender differences,respect and appreciate each other.
