Mr.Chang was a famous historian,educator and thinker in the Republic of China.He devoted his life to history education and taught in Wusong Chinese Public School,Yenching University,Shanghai Daxia University,Sichuan University and so on.In his long history research and history teaching practice,has formed the unique history education thought.At the beginning of the 20th century,when Western learning spread to the east,Chang naide dared to conform to the trend of the world education reform and tried the"Dalton System" to change the traditional way of history teaching.In 1923,he was responsible for drafting the "junior high school history curriculum outline",proposed that history education should have both national feelings and World Vision,which contains his lofty pursuit of history education.Out of the realistic need of history teaching,he compiled a book called "Bird's eye view of Chinese History",in addition,"a brief history of the Chinese nation," "a brief history of Chinese culture," "a brief history of Chinese thought," "a history of the Chinese financial system," and "a history of the Chinese political system" are added as reference books for students to study history,its "bird's eye view" of the Popular Writing Style and content of the students welcomed the writing of our current history textbooks have some inspiration.The main features of Chang naide's thought on history education are as follows:The value of history education is to save the country by education and to serve the country;the core of history education is cosmopolitanism and statism.As a history educator,Chang naide not only pays attention to the details of students'history study,but also tries to seek the way of national rejuvenation and self-strengthening from history education.Based on the background of the times and eager to change the fate of the country through national education,he greatly enriched the connotation of China's history pedagogy,and his history education thought has many inspirations for the development of today's history education,to a certain extent,it promotes the development of Chinese history education.
