Imagination is an important thinking ability.With the development of quality-oriented education,more and more people have realized the importance of cultivating students’ imagination in school education.Chinese,a subject on humanity,should shoulder the responsibility for training students’ imagination.High School Chinese Curriculum Standards(the 2017 edition is revised for 2020)listed“development and improvement of way of thinking” as one of key competence to learn Chinese,In the course objectives,it clearly emphasized to enhance students’ image-thinking ability and improve their thinking quality,These ideas are highly compatible with the ideas of cultivating imagination.In addition,as an important literary genre,the selected novels in the Chinese textbooks of high school are good materials to cultivate students’ imagination ability,because of its richness of fictional imagination.With the introduction of the core literacy of Chinese,some Chinese teachers in first-line high schools begin to pay attention to the development of students’ thinking ability and the improvement of thinking quality,but most of them still focus on cultivating students’ test-taking ability and pay insufficient attention to students’ imagination.Based on this,the thesis takes The High School Chinese Curriculum Standards(the 2017 edition is revised for 2020)as the guide,and relies on Judith A.Langer’theory of literature teaching centering on imagination.I will put forward the strategies of imagination cultivation in Chinese novel training in high school in the thesis: First,Teachers can use multimedia to create a classroom atmosphere and Set suspense to create problem situation,in order to create teaching situation to guide students quickly into the novel text;Second,teachers can guide the students to read the text with the method of annotation in order to record the reading experience,then exchange reading experience to show the initial imagination;Third,teachers can narrow the range of reading materials to improve students’ initial imagination.Perceiving the plot of the novel by association;feeling the novel environment bysituation reduction;enriching the character image by multiple thinking;exploring the novel theme by class discussion.Fourth,teachers guide students to pull away from the imagination,and think critically.Reflecting on yourself with the help of existing understanding;Writing novel reviews to deepen reading comprehension.Fifth,teachers guide the students to transfer classroom imagination,extracurricular expansion of reading.Through horizontal expansion of reading to increase the breadth of imagination;increase the depth of imagination by reading lengthwise.
