As a country with the most perfect Chinese education system in southeast Asia region,Chinese education of Malaysia has been gradually paid attention to by the country and the government.With rapid development of information technology,Chinese international diffusion in the form of TV contest has become a kind of trend and tide.TV contest program is even one of important forms for Chinese international diffusion.At present,relevant researches are weaker and research on TV contest programs in Malaysian Mandarin is even in a space state.The author selects the only TV Chinese contest program "Mandarin Battle Star" in Malaysia as the research object.The program is the TV program for Chinese common sense of elementary schools,which is hosted by NTV7 Television Channel subordinated by Media Prima in Malaysia,approved by Ministry of Education and co-hosted by Malaysian Chinese standard council.Adhering to the tenet of "promoting pupils' Chinese and common sense level of current affairs",the program expects to accelerate Chinese diffusion in Malaysia through contests.Till now,the program has been held for seven sessions in succession.Its influence can't be underestimated.By adopting various kinds of research methods,such as literature research method,video content analysis method,field investigation method,questionnaires and interviewing method and data statistical analysis method,etc,the paper breaks through single research methods for previous researchers,makes research contents be more comprehensive and deeper and research results are more convincing and creditable.The paper is divided into five chapters.Chapter One is introduction.It mainly introduces the paper's research background and significance,teases relevant research trends in detail and puts forwards the paper's research methods,innovation points of research,research contents and thought simulantaneously.The chapter aims to expound general direction of the paper's research on the basis of summarizing predecessors' research.Chapter Two analyzes basic profile and process of the contest program respectively from macrocosmic to microcosmic view points.Through investigation,we even have further cognition to the entire production and planning of the contest program and thereby better understand general situation and relevant arrangement of contests,which paves the way for test content analysis of Chapter Three.Chapter Three further analyzes test questions of the seventh session of"Mandarin Battle Star" Chinese contest from five aspects of Chinese knowledge,oral expression,cultural knowledge,national knowledge and encyclopedic knowledge and thereby provides clues for questionnaires in Chapter Four.Chapter Four mainly discusses the overall opinion of Chinese teachers from elementary schools in Malaysia towards "Mandarin Battle Star" Chinese contest.The author first conducts a questionnaire survey on Chinese teachers from elementary schools in Malaysia.Then,analyzes the investigation results.In Chapter Five,the author interviews Chinese teachers from elementary schools in Malaysia,summarizes characteristics and suggestions of contest program test questions and provides an important reference basis for future contests.The paper is the first article to analyze Malaysian Chinese contest program.It aims to promote quality of Malaysia contest program and provides reference and enlightenment for creation of other TV Chinese education programs.
